Forget about 2016, what about 2015. The WBB roster shows the addition of only two players, both guards. We have only three front court players on the roster, one of whom rarely played last season. Our new coach certainly has her work cut out for herself.

Supposedly some Canadian post player has committed for WBB 2015, but it has not been announced yet - not sure if there is an issue there or not.  Also, there is talk about walk-ons as the Coach Grentz hiring has generated very positive vibes out there.

It was PardFan who reported back in January that admissions staff member Guy MacDonald stated that a 6'5" Canadian had signed.

The 2015 admission/recruiting cycle is finished. Either the Canadian is coming or not. If she's coming then she should be on the updated roster. She's not. As to walk-ons, the PL has progressed from the days where they might matter. Let's face it, if our new coach can turn this situation around she'll have to be a miracle worker.

This will take time. I would not expect an impact on recruiting until at least next year and maybe two years out, especially as early as kids commit today.

If what you say is true, that means we have just 2 recruits coming in: Holland and Cantwell. Since we graduated 4 scholarship players and only recruited 2 for this year, we would have 5 available for the class of 2016.  And, if what Stoddard is saying about walkons is true, it sounds like there is nothing worth pursuing for 2015. So it looks like she will be using a short bench this year and use the walkons to fill out the roster and use them in practice.

That would raise the question, do you recruit 5 next year and hope that jumpstarts the program?  Or, will the unbalance scholarships put the program in an up and down situation over the long term?

1.   Lots of schools have yet to update their roster for spring signees, especially if they are still seeking to add more players.

2.  In recent years, several PL preferred walk-ons have made significant contributions in basketball.   For example, AU's Charlie Jones, a walk-on, started every PL game this year for AU and averaged almost 36 mpg.   Bucknell had a key walk-on on their 2013 championship team.  (They also started a preferred walk-on on their great teams from 2004-07.) LC has also had significant preferred walk-on contributors on the men's side - Gruner and Delaney, I believe.    There have also been preferred walk-ons on various PL women's teams who were contributors.

Not too worry LC Fan we brought  Stefan Ciosici on board 2 weeks after the first semester started. There's a little more red tape with foreign players. Coach Grentz knows how the system works.

There's not too much red tape these days.    Bucknell has had a few foreign players in recent years and it only took a few weeks to get everything in place.    I suspect she is signed and on board but that LC is just delaying the press release until they are sure there won't be any other signees.

Not surprisingly the Canadian has now been added to the roster.

Good pickup, 68. Sounds like it was Penn all along:

Meanwhile a flurry of offers in the last few days. 2 2016 PGs and a 2016 PF. Result of staff additions?

Don't know why Nelson continues to be ignored by VC.com.   Adds a HC offer to ours and BU.

2016 Commit Kyle Stout dealing with some injuries this summer ...

"I was at the Philly AAU tournament and I went up for a jump shot and came down on the kid's foot," Stout said. "I rolled my ankle and wound up going to the ER [at Lehigh Valley Hospital] for an X-ray. It's not broken, but I'll be on crutches for a couple of weeks and then they'll reassess it."
