Blake Costanzo  was named the new head coach at Paramus  Catholic replacing his close friend Chris Partridge.

Wow. Interesting, good pickup, Bill. Chris to Rutgers?

Everyone knows, I'm sure, Chris is a former Pard LB and captain who played great, 17 tackles, in the '02 rivalry win.

Of course, this marks the end of Blake's remarkable NFL career. Best of luck to both of them.

Unfortunately the article I read in this morning's paper failed to mention that both were Lafayette players. It simply stated that they were team mates who lived together.

That is great for both of them. Both have also maintained close relationships with Coach Loose, so I wonder how many of those Jersey boys may end up Knights.

And I know that Blake has been very smart with his money. Top that off with the NFL pension/benefits and he is surely taking this job to stay a part of the game and give back, nothing more.

Wow, big doings here!

Great opportunity for Chris Partridge at Rutgers.  I'm sure he loved his job, but sometimes you have to take a shot.

Great fit for Blake as well.  As LeopardsBall10 stated, I've heard that Blake lived like a monk while playing in the NFL so he is set, but a wonderful opportunity to stay close to the game and make an impact on young players.

Congrats to Chris and Blake.

Dont buy the cover story. Chris is an excellent football mind and a good guy. HS coaches move up every year. Bogus to say it would alienate other NJ HS coaches.

Some other "high profile" NJ coaches, namely Greg Toal seem to really hate Partridge. Perhaps he broke up their monopoly a bit and they don't like it.  I don't get guys like Toal.  I've heard that in the past he talks kids out of going to certain schools, and I guess he threw a fit and said he wouldn't send kids to Rutgers if Partridge went there.  I thought high school coaches were supposed to look out for their guys and help them make the best decision.  Toal seems to use his kids to inflate his ego.  No wonder kids in North Jersey were going to Paramus Catholic instead.

FT
Toal is an egomaniacal jerk. Excellent coach tho. Most of the coaches I know in NJ really dont like him, partly jealousy,I think, partly his personality.

Story today : Partridge asked Flood for some time to think over joining Rugers' staff and Kyle Flood told him "No, we're moving on." This version was attributed to Partridge himself. This was in the Trenton Times but the story originated in the Star Ledger.

Partridge is joining the staff at Michigan in the recruiting department  He will not be a position coach.  No doubt Blake's relationship with Harbaugh at least helped Chris get noticed by the staff.  Partridge also had the #1 recruit on the country last year, Jarbil Peppers, who went to Michigan.  PC also has the #1 recruit in the country for next year according to many services.

I hope he goes to Pittsburgh.  Two Pards on the same NFL roster?

A nice dream, but not going to happen without some injuries in August. The Steelers have too many LBs on the roster as is, with a potential for a draft pick or two to not make the team. Blake will end up somewhere with no depth at LB after a vet utility guys goes down in camp.

Blake Costanzo has accepted an assistant coaching job with Queen of Peace, a north Jersey school that has had trouble fielding a team. He should help in the motivation-to-play department. They need to get enough guys on the field.
