Much like last year, I've been compiling an unofficial list of student-athletes who have signed to play for the College Hill 9 next season. Please feel free to add to (or edit) the list if you have any further information. In addition, please take the heights and weights with a grain of salt. One more note: based solely on what I was able to glean from the newspaper accounts, some of these young men were also being "recruited" (it's a fairly ambiguous term) by BCS schools.

T, good, thorough list. Besides Massa, updated Newsday commitment list now includes:
Derek Gussaroff, Cold Spring Harbor, Lafayette.
Looks like a P/OF from LI small school division. |

Thanks Andy; greatly appreciate the addition of Gussaroff. Looks like his brother is currently pitching for Fairfield.
Is it me, or does it seem like Joe and staff target pitchers in the 6'0" - 6'2" range? I can't recall a recruiting class that had more than one solitary pitching recruit who stood taller than 6'3" since the Matt Kamine / John Fuggett / Ted Gjeldum era. I'm certainly not knocking the practice, as I believe our best chance at attracting quality pitching is to focus on the guys who don't necessarily ace the "eye-ball test". But it is in stark contrast to Bucknell; I swear, it seems like they don't have anyone shorter than 6'4" on their pitching staff. |

Funny, I always check for height in the recruits, too, esp the Ps and am usually left wanting. I think you hit the nail on the head--the staff would prob prefer bigger kids as well, but pitching recruiting in our league is a compromise.
Army gets some mooses who pitch and play positions. Did you see where their 6-7 250 lber hit a tape measure shot vs Texas in Army's near win? Good showing by Army winning 2 games. |

Sometimes perceptions differ a bit from reality. Two of the four Bison weekend pitchers this year are 6'0" and 6'2". (The other two are 6'4" and 6'6".) The closest thing BU had to a closer is also 6'0". They did have three or four tall pitchers who rarely got into weekend games however.
BU's two pitching stars from last year, who were two of the best in PL history, are both 6'3". One of them - Buursma - is pitching very well in the Cardinals' farm system. |

Reading comprehension does not appear to be one of your strengths. I am well aware of these facts, hence, my use of the word "seems". Let's see if your enfeebled mind can wrap itself around this: YOU"RE AN IDIOT. |

Congratulations. In years of reading these boards, this is the dumbest post I've ever seen. |

Titicus-- I agree with Bison. Is your post really necessary? It might be helpful if you thought about what you post before you do so. |
