Legal Battle is over and it says Lafayette will take over the property on October 30th.

Whatever they end up doing with that building it will be a travesty if they don't name it "The Hub".

Its been reported that they are going to turn it into "green space".  To me that means they are going to tear down the building.  Since its in a flood zone, I would imagine that once they tear it down they won't be able to build anything on it.

Looks that way. The article says that the building is structurally unsound, so perhaps parking and or green space is about all that can be done.

That of course means we pay 600,000 dollars plus the demolition costs. But 600,000 here 1 mio there, before you know it it real money. Maybe I'm being too negative.

Well, at least that ugly eyesore is gone. WTF - is that guy crazy? He thinks he could have gotten more than a 2006 value during the height of the real estate boom? God, has it been 25 years (spring 1984) since I visited this place to get replacements for my inner wheel caps that someone stole in downtown Easton for my 1965 Skylark convertible (it was yellow so obviously coined as the Banana Boat)? He didnt have any Sad

He probably stole the hubcaps, selling them back to you would have been too obvious.  Laughing

Didnt think of that - but true. What would be the odds of some dude in Easton having those inserts for a 65 Buick Skylark!!
