Joyeux NoŽl ŗ tous! as the Marquis might have said.

To whom will John Garrett look to fill the cavernous space of the Bourger Football House? †Twitter followers can provide Pard sleuths a clue, perhaps. †But some on this board might be better positioned to name names.

Will Mickey Fein get a look? †Some of the former Richmond staff, perhaps? †Coach Garrett seems to know some graduate assistants at top FBS programs. †Are they in the mix?

Today, UCONN dumped HC Bob Diaco after 3 seasons. Interestingly, Coach Garrett was on the Virginia staff in 2006 with Diaco and UCONN's DC Anthony Poindexter. Maybe Poindexter could be in play for our DC?

Wow. †It looks like UConn owes Diaco $3.4 Million, too.

I doubt Lafayette could meet whatever UConn and UVa were paying Poindexter, but you never know.  That would be a heckuva name on the recruiting trail.

I guess you are right as it was reported Poindexter was making $375k, but being out of work, maybe he can assist passing through?

Any tea leaves yet?

Will we, perhaps, be getting one of the just-fired Ryan brothers for DC? Laughing

Coach Garrett almost certainly knows both the Ryan brothers personally. Can you imagine Rob or Rex roaming the Fisher sidelines, flailing and shouting and muttering obscenities? Much better than Frank Tavani roaming the Fisher sidelines, flailing and shouting and muttering obscenities. Cool

I wonder who holds the NCAA yards-thrown distance record for a coach's headphone?

His Wikipedia page still says that John Garrett "is currently the offensive coordinator for the University of Richmond." This might possibly affect a potential recruit who googles him. Makes it seem like somebody is not on the ball. Does anybody know how to edit Wikipedia?

Keith Groller -
While the arrival of John Garrett as head coach at Lafayette should provide a lot of curiosity and anticipation for the Leopards, Lehigh will remain the team to beat in Patriot League with highly polished quarterback Brad Mayes taking the offensive reins. He'll be aided by many offensive weapons, including All-American receiver Troy Pelletier and standout running back Dom Bragalone, who are set to keep the touchdowns coming on South Mountain.

". . . should provide a lot of curiosity and anticipation for the Leopards . . ." Seriously, is that the best Groller can do? Lazy journalism, IMHO. Confused

Sometimes it seems as if somebody actually reads this stuff. The timing is just a coincidence, I'm sure. Did you edit it, BillS? How does one edit Wikipedia?

This is timely news because the NCAA "dead period" ends as of today.

Belein at Richmond will get a look due to circumstances surrounding Delaware. However his strength is Dline and we may have that covered. Great recruiter and knows D line.played at Wake Forest.

When my son was being recruited by Amherst the coaches  there spoke very highly about Phil Hallinan. In fact they participated in the Loose Brain Cancer Camps which is where they "discovered" my son. They thought the Lafayette program  was excellent.I think Hallinan could return there with a promotion if he is interested.
