This once proud program has fallen into a swamp. Its not getting better and the loss today to lehigh 22-10 is it for me. We were outplayed, outcoached, out everything..this coach must go out the door as well!!! I don't see how it can get any worse!!!

I tend to agree, we're getting swamped by younger teams. We aren't bringing in the kind of talent we need to. We've become a good Homecoming Game. I used to love watching this program. After Jill Johnson-Redfern left we've never recovered.

The "younger teams" label I used isn't correct. While Senior Maddy Booth is leading the team in points by a country-mile, there are a lot of Sophomores starting as well. Problem is I don't get the impression we are "almost there" We're losing by an average of 7 goals per game and Bucknell and Lehigh drilled us. I'm aware we played well with Bucknell until they scored...EIGHT straight on us.
I still haven't completely figured out how we allocate scholarships...Does this team have any at their disposal?

They do not get any scholarships. The only scholarships go to M/W basketball M soccer and field hockey. I believe the only other school giving scholarships in the PL  in w/lacrosse is AU. (not sure about Colgate). You are correct about the lack of seniors which says something right there. The underclasman are not setting the world on fire.  This coach has been here three years, time to go!!

Colgate started in 2004:

In all, 31 full scholarships worth about $37,000 each will be available for both men and women in basketball, ice hockey, lacrosse, soccer, and swimming and diving. Women competing in field hockey, softball and volleyball also will be eligible. //////

"Winning teams are phenomenal for school spirit. So the more winning teams we can have, the better it is for all of our students and faculty," Colgate president Rebecca Chopp said.

The losing continues with w lacrosse, although there are only a couple of seniors on the team. Unfortunately they are not getting better and I am afraid losing is becoming a habit. This coaching arrangement is NOT working... she has lost this program...time to pull the plug. There are a number of Lafayette alumni who played in our glory years and who are coaching successfully at other colleges . I suspect they would probably love this job!!! It's not like we have always been this bad.
--------
The beat goes on... losing to winless LaSalle. Time for this coach to go. I have now heard stories that she did NOT show for a visiting recruit two weeks ago. Bruce, it is time to put an end to this......now!!!

Yeah, this is dismal. Looking at the first half stats against Lasalle shows that we weren't even "in" this game. I would hope the coach would just resign and make it easy for everyone. This has to be an embarassing situation for her and I would think she'd want the first bus out of Easton in 8 days.

Like you I remember the glory days of this program---the whole thing seemed to crash when Jill Redfern left. It's hard for me to believe we're as bad as we are.

The women's all league teams were announced and Lafayette had no players on the first or second teams.  Bruce..... pull the plug now so we can begin a search and have a new coach on board for the fall......PLEASE!! Look to our alumni who are coaching in the D1 ranks. DO IT NOW!!!

Yes women's lax is a disgrace and is the most urgent issue facing athletics now that we have the track underway. Dump the coach.

Isn't jenn stone a field hockey coach at laf?

If I were an admin, I'd expand schollies next to men and womens lax. Lax can be the the next "football" sport for spring. It already is at princeton. I was there to see a baseball game last week and they had tailgates and dare I say more people and enthusiasm than a football game. Lax is a huge sport, and we are in the right league to increase our brand name. Its a no-brainer to me.

And of course once we get football schollies, tack on womens soccer, softball.
