It's a game at the half. LU 28 - 25. The difference, Lehigh has made six threes versus three for the Pards.

Sad  Yet another loss for the Leopards.  But it's hard to win when we had 7 FTs and Lehigh had 23.

We hurt ourselves down the stretch with a missed 1 & 1 and a botched lay in. BUT, my comment on the officiating ^*%<#+|!,£!!!!

We were down by 4, a Lehigh kid  grabs a loose ball sliding 2 feet before passing it. Is that not a travel? Shortly thereafter Kempton drives baseline and pushes off on the defender, layin and a foul on the defender! Later a non-call on a goal tend. Horrible.

Somehow the LC recap doesnt mention a FT disparity of 23-7.

Good effort guys!

I was not able to attend or watch. It seems the FTs were the difference. Was Boykins present?

Yes.

FTs, yeah, but also spurts of turnovers, empty possessions.  We're playing freshmen.  Nick's shooting kept it close. Up by as much as 8 in the 2nd half.  Overall I hope yesterday was evidence of an improving team.

I can't find the exact wording, but I'm pretty sure that if a player dives for a loose ball and slides, it's not a travel unless he rolls over or makes an effort to get to his feet with possession.

Not in the text, but the stats are there on the sidebar. And any "official" communication from Lafayette needs to be careful with commenting on the officiating. Could be seen as criticizing the officials, which in the league's eyes could be the same as if FOH called them out in an interview (to be fair, I have no idea what the penalty is for this).

NOTE: I didn't see the game, so I'm not even necessarily saying that the officiating was that bad (though I'd certainly believe it). We don't play an offensive style that's conducive to a lot of trips to the line.

Thanks on the rule. I was afraid of that, thus my question.

Re FTs. Recap:

Lafayette went 26-for-56 from the floor (46.4%) and made 11 of their 24 shots from beyond the arc, while the Hawks hit on 23 of their 53 shots overall (43.4%) and made 10-of-26 from deep (38.5%).///

Wouldnt it seem reasonable to include "Lehigh added nineteen from the charity stripe, LC 5."  ????  It was a big part of the game. Anyway, to mention it might make someone "uncomfortable."  This is LC afterall.

Pointing out a statistical fact is not beating on an official. If that's the conclusion the reader comes to...so be it. Getting to the foul line or even making a foul is part of the game!! The TV announcer mentioned it several times by the way.

Yes, that is correct.

I agree that they should have done this. Just noting that it couldn't be focused on much more than just stating the facts like you did above. Conference offices are sensitive about their officials.

I hear you, marooner. Thanks.
