Just got home from a very disappointing 15 point loss to an admittedly superior LU Team.  The brown and white went right after the LC "Bigs" with great success, had big edge in Offensive rebounds (or so it seemed - haven't seen the box score yet) and hit big time 3s when they needed them.

I'm not sure if this was a step backwards or that LU is just that much better.  At one point late in the game LU was shooting 50% from the floor and LC 38%.  Anna Patinski had a hot shooting first have (three treys) but did not start in the 2nd half and only took one three pointer when she did come in the game late in the 3rd quarter.

On to road game to a strong Bison team and then a trip to the Tundra next Saturday.  Maybe i can convince my 'Gate Daughter to make the always arduous journey to Upstate NY.

Looking at the stats.  LU totally dominated on the board with 42 rebounds to 25.  Of the 42, 17 were offensive.  They shot 51%.  Wow.

We had no answer to their bigs. Maia Hood tried battled but couldn't handle the post offense of LU. All of our players try very hard but are much too slow in both quickness and reaction to be contenders. I love the effort and that offsets the team's lack of competitiveness.

The effort is there, to be sure.  That is a tribute to the coaches who have been nothing but positive and to the bench players who really cheer on their teammates.
