I have now heard from several people (admin,Bot, and faculty) that the budget was NOT approved and they are to come back with a revised budget in 4 weeks.
Several things are on the table including not having a freshman orientation.( no loss as far as I am concerned) and a full blown hiring freeze!! There is definitely some pain ahead.

it's about time they came to their senses.  makes no sense forcing an agenda in this economic climate.

Wellesley  announced today a staff reduction of 10 pct of their non-faculty employees. It will be 80 employees who will take early retirement or get laid off. They were given notice  tuesday that today is their last day.
