Another turd in the punch bowl with turnovers.  Not really much more to say.  SH isn't a bad team, but we should not be losing to Wagners or Sacred Hearts.

Have been a Jim R supporter, but something has got to change or there isn't much sense doing it.

I don't know enough (about lacrosse or about finances, scholarship and the like) to say Coach R. is doing a good job or a bad job. And I'm certainly not one to call for a man's job four games into a season. But this is what we're looking at right row...

The Patriot League currently has three ranked teams (Loyola, Army, Boston) plus unranked Navy, which is 1-3 but doesn't have a bad loss. So even in a good year by Lafayette standards, the postseason looks like a pipe dream for the foreseeable future.

In addition, the bottom of the league seems to be improving faster than we are (Holy Cross beat Lehigh last weekend, for example).

Akin to women's hoops, I think this is another year where we look for the positives every Saturday and just hope that we feel better about the future in May than we do in March.

Didn't mean to imply I was calling for Coach's job - just that the current approach isn't working and needs to change.  Game plan, better pay for better assistants, some of both - don't know.

We generally have kids with the right pedigree and while the talent gap may exist vs. top PL schools it should not be to this apparent degree, and it does not excuse losses to Wagner or Sacred Heart.  So far, sans faceoff, this group has take most of their steps in the wrong direction.  Clears, turnovers, caused turnovers, not to mention scoring 1 goal for every 2 the other team scores....and many of ours during 4th quarter garbage time.

Maybe something changes when a few kids return from injury - but as right now the grade is D- and the next four games are with 3 of the teams you mention.  Do we think its fair to anyone (kids, coaches, parents, alumni) to hope for 1-7?

Here's what bothers me about Lacrosse and some other sports. At what point do donors just throw in the towel. Men's lacrosse, as I understand, is raising the second most money of any team at lafayette . Is there a point as a donor  do you get tired of throwing money at a black hole.
Will the school step in at some point and fix this ( the study??). I don't see any enthusiasm at any level for that to be done. I hope I am wrong.

Good point.  Not all that long ago Holy Cross Lax was even worse than Lafayette, and Lehigh and us were pretty much on par.  Lehigh has stepped it up and has been a solid program going on a decade now, and Holy Cross has been consistently better than us the last 3-5 years.  The BU program is only a few years old.  Lafayette Lax used to be in the bottom half of the league, but had a good season now and again.  Now they are by far the worst program in the PL, and among the bottom 10 percent in D1 on a regular basis.

I guess it's all in the hands of "the committee" now. To me, it's gut-wrenching to imagine what could have been for this team.
