Hi Group - just another chapter in this terrible mess of a team. Lots of questions, but no answers. Hey at least it's March!!
Carry on!! |

Let's hope it's the final chapter for Tammy! At least one of the answers is a new coaching staff. These young ladies deserve better! |

I still want to heave when I watch Tammy's "we don't have much experience, yeah we have 5 seniors and 4 starters back from last year and this is game 25 of the season and most of the teams that are beating us are less experienced than we are, but we don't have much experience" speech. (OK, I took some creative liberties, but it was the ultimate reach in excuses.
Tammy in the media guide (Yes, I know the media guide is all about promotion but it's still worth a read): "We're looking to build on last years sucess...obviously we'll have to replace 4 seniors but we're very confident we'll be able to replace all aspects of what we lost." Going a little further "we were all disappointed in last years outcome" (that would be a 14 win season, which to be fair is still possible if we can win the PL title and advance to the elite
The story--if there is gonna be one---should develop quickly. Most coaches in this situation---ASSUMING THEY ARE GOING TO LOSE THEIR JOB---"resign" either right before or right after the tourney.
Think this year was bad? It should be worse next year. We'll have a decent front line but considering 1) we've virtually always used three guards and flexibility is not Tammy's strong suit and 2) we have absolutely nothing returning in terms of PROVEN talent at the guard position....we could be looking at a 25 loss season. Only a Chris Webber moment by a Penn forward and Princeton going to sleep stopped this from being a 24 loss team.
Tammy averages 6 wins/year. Since I'm into really simple math that amounts to the football team having an 8 year stretch where they win 2 to 3 games every year. I want to hear, I'm DYING to hear, the rationalization for keeping her.
Because we all know they will. _________________ I bleed Maroon |

The coach from Muhlenburg has D-1 experience and he is doing quite well there. At least he has won a few league championships there, something Tammy has never done.
Just an idea to throw out there. |

I doubt if we will go to the Muhlenberg well for another drink of water.
Let's see: Ron Rohn's record at Colgate from 1996-2001, that's five years and a total of 23 league wins, or 4.6 wins per year. Compared to Tammy Smith's 23 wins in 6 years, or 3.8 league wins per year.
Do you think we really want to torture ourselves? |

If we ar looking for a new coach, I hope the College does not go the D-III route again. Now that we have scholarships, I hope we could get a D-I assistant coach who could use us as a stepping stone.
Of course, the college will have to address a new arena..... |

In the hopes that somebody actually reads these ramblings, I repeat the final line of my spleen emptying screech in the men's basketball forum:
BRUCE, it's time to get a backbone! |
