Saturday, 1:00 PM in Philadelphia. Today's only legitimate lacrosse game (despite whatever it is they think they're doing over at Fisher Field).

Let's see what you got.

Up 3-1 early.

Pards playing as expected; looking tough wearing their anti-Sam Bradford uniforms.

Temple has player names on the backs of their WLax uniforms. Pard WLax doesn't need names on their uniforms. We all know who they are already.

Ouch! Looked like an own-goal there. Need to see Pards use their physicality on defense a bit more.

5-5 11 to go. I think we are faster. I like our midfield and high defense! Temple wants to slow this game down.

Working hard for every scoring opportunity. The unforced TOs can kill us in a game like this.

I want to see us use that midfield speed advantage for another transition goal or two.

Hannah Davy with another sling shot. It's becoming her signature move.

Well, the shot clock is kind of new, you know . . . Wink

Still, you're right. Not if they want to compete with the big dogs.

They're playing at the new Temple sports facility, site of the former William Penn High School. The high school structure was a huge, brutalist 1960s eyesore. It represented everything planners got wrong in trying to revitalize North Philadelphia. Walking along the street was like walking along the north side of KSC.

I can't imagine the cluster F that must have gone on at Fisher today. Did the JV squad lose by more than 15? Did they even manage to score? I'm not even going to look at the score.

From now forward, WLax shall be referred to as "Lacrosse" or "Lax." That's because Lafayette really has only one lacrosse team.

Pards are losing some steam in the second half. It appears to be the "Kirsten Wilhelmsen and the Seven Dwarfs" effect. They need to work on their conditioning, including aerobic work. They're fast, for sure, but they have to sustain that speed all game long against top teams who clearly can do the same.

18-12 final. Once again, a loss to a top national team, in a game the Pards kept close until the last five or seven minutes. Especially with the sophomore class, Pards look like they'll be competitive for years to come.

Next up are the Iona Gaels who got toasted this afternoon by the Saucon Skidmarks and got shut out last Saturday by Holy Cross.

Good question. Abacherli and Raymond split the first game 50/50. Abacherli started the second game and Raymond played about a quarter. Then Abacherli was in goal for the entire Rutgers game.

So there are two possible answers, I suppose. Either Abacherli sustained an injury during the game, or Coach Fisher is is still figuring out who's best suited to carry forward as PL play approaches.
