Why wait until after the 2018 season to get a replacement? Probably related to The Study.

It's pretty hard to blame him for that.  Being an assistant coach at a rising D1 program with virtually unlimited resources is going to help his career more than treading water (?) in Easton.

Guys and Gals,
While very unfortunate this late in the summer, let's keep comments positive. Not sure how many players or prospects read this forum. My son is a senior this year and the team needs to rally from this and keep moving forward. Lots of talent this year and they need our support.

I certainly agree with this.  Thanks for the reminder.

That's two of the top three coaches have left. Rogalski to Michigan and Terranova to Chestnut Hill. Makes one wonder if they see no future in the study?

Rogalski was a prolific fund raiser and liked amongst  his fellow
coaches. One can hardly blame the guy. I wish him the best of luck and would hope the 'study'" will make us stronger and a place that can attract the best of the best.  Sad

That study looms now as crucial, I hope to the powers that be, it is well understood!!  Are they listening or are they trying to get the consultant to endorse the college's lame solutions?? We will all see if that is the case!

To me, lacrosse remains a sport in which schools like Lafayette can make a name for themselves at the highest level by devoting a relatively small amount of resources (though this is less true than before, now that schools like Michigan and Ohio State are embracing the sport).  It is also a sport that tends to draw the attention of students in areas that are already in Lafayette's wheelhouse (Mid-Atlantic to New England), though that is also changing.  Hopefully, The Study will lead to an increased emphasis on lacrosse going forward.

We're deluding ourselves if we believe the "study" will have an impact on our competitiveness. It's a way to lower the temperature among alums. The lacrosse coach understood this and didn't wait to reap the phony benefits this board is anticipating. "
Promise them anything and give them Arpeg!"

I fear your correct but I am telling everyone at the highest level we can't fiddle around the edges and for many this is it!! We have to make significant moves that will be obvious to everyone to have any credibility.

I just emailed both Bruce McCutcheon mccutchb@lafayette.edu and Alison Byerly byerlya@lafayette.edu to express my support of what the lacrosse team accomplishes both on and off the field, and that the team needs the administration to take some action now to show their support for the men on the team.

I believe our AD is on vacation!

Laxdad, I appreciate your passion for the sport but the issue is a Athletic Program wide issue...look at the numbers on the front part of this blog. All our athletes are great additions to the community and we are failing them if this study is not done and action taken across the board.

We do not need specific action in specific sports we need a commitment to excellence for the whole enterprise.

Lafalum, Understand completely, but my focus is on my son right now. Only one more season left for him.

Sadly, I have the same fears as Lafalum about the "Study."  Should it not include recommendations for a new AD, have the AD report to the President, and allocate more resources to athletics, it will be received by most of us like a lead balloon.  Not to mention recommending specific ways to improve our winning % in the PL and creating a winning athletics culture.

Can't really blame the coach for leaving for a program that is on a rocket-like upward trajectory.  Michigan's new lacrosse facility looks like it will be spectacular.

I agree with 88 that there remains a quickly closing window with lacrosse wherein the school could make a far reaching splash for a relatively good value. But, that window is closing quickly as there is a rise of non-"traditional lax schools" and Michigan/Ohio State emerging powers that are actually taking up that bandwith.

The LC Lax parents appear exceptionally dedicated to the program and it seems like it would be an easy program for the administration to throw its support behind.  But, I guess that lack of support is the cause of the situation that we find ourselves in.

Coach Rogalski did the best anyone can do with the cards he wss dealt.  While were almost certain to start speculating about who the new coach will be and will toss out high - profile names you may want to ask yourself what coach with two synapses firing is going to want to play in the same league as Loyola with 2.5 scholarships.

Bucknell's coach would love to have 2.5 scholarships to work with.
