I thought it a bit odd after last years emphasis on OL recruiting, that four of our five listed so far on Rivals are OL and our lone offer is to OL Keegan Sheedy of Lancaster Catholic.  Coaches seem to agree with you, bogie.

We were in the running last recruiting season for a linebacker fron Central Catholic (lost out to Fordham I think).  Would be nice to have more exposure to that Pittsburg football powerhouse.
Western PA Football

ELB - Your referring to Niko Thorpe.  Considered one of the top five LB's out of this area for 2014.  I think his size was the only reason he did not go to an FBS school.  Listed as 5'11" 215 but like all these kids, they don't quite measure up to the heights/weights in the programs.  None the less, a really nice football player and very productive on a very good team at the highest level.  With his speed he would of been a nice fit in the new 4-2-5 scheme as a safety in run support.

You are correct WestPA.  We were fortunate to recruit a really good athletic class this year, but we lost out in my opinion with the two most athletic kids of all - and to Patriot League competitors - LB Niko Thorpe to Fordham and LB Nick McBeath (from Florida) to Holy Cross.

We signed plenty of Lbers, especially since we play two. And we got some good ones, Root, Conn......"

Art Link is from Gainesville, and venturing into a new recruiting ground for us.  As for these early offers I suspect many are "reach" guys for us that we don't have a great chance with.  However if the bigger programs don't come through with an offer we can be in a good place since we were there from the beginning building rapport with these kids.

Yes, I'm a stat guy and you're behind in the "buy" stat.

As far as the players you have to look at them individually.  Doesnt look like these guys are terribly long "reaches."  Dont think we're talking Cabinda or Klock (a couple of big timers we offered early last year) here.  But, time will tell.  Sheedy shows big school interest on the major recruiting svcs, but no other offers, yet. IIRC our first verbals came July last year, maybe June (Fragapane).

Just saw FT's post.  Hope Coach Link makes an impact in N. FL for us.

It would be nice to develop a good relationship with Wood.  They are  arguably the premier football program in SE PA, although St. Joe's and LaSalle Prep may disagree.

Yeah, we missed out on that OL a few years ago. Have to check up on his career.

Let's see, kids from Philly schools in general under Frank:

I wouldn't mind fielding a team with McCourt, Mo B, Snipes, Quarterman, Smalley.

Others: Chris Williams, Nase.  Missing....?   Not as many as one might expect.

Yup, quite impressive.  Big, strong and MEAN.  Good feet and athletic ability, but I would like to see him play with a bit lower pad level.  Stan the Man will work on that, buy very impressive size and ability for a Jr in high school.

Is it September yet?  I am already getting the itch for football as I suppose a championship season and lots of talent returning will do that.

Yeah, we had Tanner's commitment earlier in the thread.  Rivals seems to be paying more attention, staying current, with PL these days.  I'll start a verbal commitment list in this thread.

Scoutingohio has unblocked their list of names for the time being. We look to be inactive there, although Gate and FU anything but.

JUst a thought, I wonder if we suffer because we are not a university  offering graduate degrees. Just a thought.  We would certainly be better for young assistants who could take graduate degrees while coaching. Those who have medical redshirts could still get their undergraduate degree and play in their graduate year.

I also wish we had an education major. It would be a benefit to the school and students who want to be teachers.

I thought the work you did last year organizing the mayhem was fine, but if spreadsheet format is viewed as better - go for it. I will continue to post info here (as will others, I trust, who enjoy "the hunt"), to be formatted however by yourself or someone else. RichH's list was pretty cool last year.  Debatable whether or not we need to do something with the merely offered.
RichH

Agree Andy. Lists now getting unwieldy to carry all over onto sheet. I try to winnow it down. Last year list started with 45. or so names. I already have over 60..Next year , gonna just start with spreadsheet and audit that.

Andy, then now is a good time for some recruit accounting.  I encourage you and others to review the attached screenshot of an Excel spreadsheet for 2015 Leopards recruits.  It has some holes, and I encourage comments to aid in modification.  This forum only allows images from public servers (not from my personal computer) so an interactive spreadsheet is not an option.
The info is from prior posts in this thread - mostly Andy's posts.  As I count LC has extended 24 offers; 3 of those players have commited to other schools and 3 have commited to LC - a super percentage in my estimation.

Aaron Forbes RB Newburgh Free Academy (Toussaint Helm) offered tonight per Justin Rodriguez, Times Herald Record
bethlehempard

Cody Wheeler has committed to U of North Texas per the Allen America.
AJ O'Neal has committed to ODU per odublitz.com
Interest in Petrishen has soared, first the PL and Ivies, now the ACC. One prognosticator says Pitt is the favorite.

Great job, ELB!  Clear, concise, easy to follow.

You now officially join the swelling ranks of folks with way too much time on their hands.

The above list has about 30 LC offers.   My similar Bucknell list has 52 offers.  But amazingly (at least to me) there are only three names that overlap - Petrishen, McClendon, and Ray Smith - and none of the three are headed to LC or BU.

Given the similarity of the two schools, I would have expected more players with offers from both.

The same situation with Colgate-very little overlap.  Curious.

Coaches look for players that have the skill sets that fit their offense and defense schemes.

The Colgate list from '63:

Maybe 5-6 off a quick scan who overlap.   I' m a bit surprised, cr, to have not seen a flurry of offers following your camp.
cr

Andy,

I have heard of offers, but not commits_Ugh! Last year the first commit was in September so they don't seem concerned.  The ones that an alum has found on twitter there is almost no overlap although I did learn they thought the OL from CT you got was a good one.

Yes, he looks good, thanks. Happy with the 3 so far.  Nothing yet published from Coach Link's efforts in FL.  You guys seem busy again in Illinois.

Very few H to Hs across the league. Larger pool more national recruiting. Quick scan, appears we have more H to Hs with MAC and CAA than we do intra league.

Another Ohio offer tonight in addition to Dylan Mabin, this to Noah Able  CB form the Moeller program per Mike Dyer, Cinci Enquirer.

I like Noah's HS coach's tweet:

Just heard from LCLF. He will be presenting his list of recruits shortly. Do you think he should have his own thread?

Threadbare.

Tell him we've moved on to 2015.

Also tell him we're not interested in tennis recruits!  Smile

Fordham has now added a Rivals 3* TE 6-6 235  from Washington state.  With 15 or so commits there's no comparison to anyone else in the PL. Experience with scholarships showing?

Maybe, but I think it's more a case of being all in.  It will be interesting to see what happens after Moorhead moves on.

Great point.  A Columbia fan moaning about having to play a pumped up FU roster posted this on the culions blog:

"After last year's Fordham game, and based upon a discussion with a Fordham trustee about how the Fordham board was urged by the new President to make a major push in football...." (He may be referring to the new AD not pres)

Imagine that!

Again, that list posted by BP is a list of last years commitments for the PL.

Baur is a rostered TE for Lehigh and is a nephew of our former QB.
