2nd Half

Hope we're rested and ready to go. 4 road trips to the tough places, Wooster, Lewisburg, and DC. Maybe some more OT games! Keep it up guys!
Beat the Saders!
Go Pards!

Although Worcester and Lewisburg are not as intimidating this year as they have been in the past.  I'd like to see 4-3 or 5-2.

No more OT thanks - getting to old for that.  5-2 locks a #1 seed unless someone goes crazy and runs the table.  This still all comes down to who gets hot for 2-3 games early in March.  Winning league provides some well needed confidence, but not a whole lot more.

How true.  This year, playing the No. 8 seed on your home court will not be an easy game.
Smokesdawg

What the hell happened in the second half of that game?
What is happening to this team?
Thanks for any objective advice for one who wasn't there...

52 pts in the second half.... were we playing with 4 players? I was on the road and I just saw the the score.  Awful!!

some stats
Brown held to 3-12 /3 10 from the 3 pt line
Adbullah no 3 pointers
team was 6-21 from 3 pt land.
We were leading at the half and had as much a 9 pt lead in the second half.
Second chance points laf 3- HC -17
No production from our big men.
HC had us for lunch underneath when our three pt game went away.
Bentlly and Abdullah had technicals

I wasn't at the game but tried to listen to it on the radio at 1100 AM but their signal was so weak it was fading in and out and I finally gave up on. But I thought I heard Dick Hammer say that Abdullah got hurt.

I watched a lot of the game on all-access and didn't see any injury.    He played almost the whole game until being removed for the last 3+ minutes after getting a technical.    By that time, the game was decided anyway.
Lafalum

He was playing with a back injury according to the lafayette web site. It occurred during the game .

I attempted to listen to the 2nd half as well, what happened? We got 2 technicals in the second half! Who got the first?
RePard

I watched the entire game. We were in good shape for about 27 minutes and then the wheels popped off. HC always beats us inside so that was not a surprise but our perimeter game went south and we were dead. We also missed a lot of FT's. Abdullah was taken out of his game and really didn't handle it well, a lot of bs jawing and got hit with a technical. We also got wiped on both boards. If we get them in the playoffs we'll need to shoot 50% from 3. Some nobody back up center came off the bench and torched us for about 10 points in 5 minutes. They also had some players who didn't play or played injured at Easton who were back and they hurt us. Time to man up.
Long Time Fan

We've gotten this far with smoke and mirrors.  If we don't throw in a lot of 3-pointers we're done.  We have nothing in the paint--nothing.  Either we can't recruit inside players or we can't teach post play.  If that doesn't change we'll never do better than we are now.

Inside/Outside

Saw a number of games this year, our 3 point game went well because we were getting points inside or at least passing the ball in and then kicking out.  Inside game was not strong earlier but it was there, including drives to the basket by Gruner, Detmer and Brown stepping past the D and shooting 2 point jumpers foul line etc...

Its not an either/or you need a little inside production to free up the 3 and vice versa
Kiltedpard

Judging from the ht and wt of the incoming frosh, help inside, is not on the way. Wheeler & Benbow need high protein diets and they all need to hit the weight room so we don't get "worn down" as Fran always seems to lament.
RePard

Fran has always loved the perimeter game and that is who he looks for to recruit. Ideally he'd like Carrington and White type guys, players who rebound and follow but don't need to have the ball to be effective so that he can run the offense solely through the perimeter.
Lafalum

I doubt in the future with scholarships can anyone be successfull with a total perimeter game.  Without the ability to rebound and as someone above has stated you need both to make the perimeter work. The best teams in the PL lately have been those with strong post players.
