@ Lehigh

Tonight, Saturday April 20 at 7:00 PM over at the Stinking, Diseased, Festering Cesspool.

It's our last game of the season, and the last regular season game for the Skidmark Stains as well, who will be moving on the the PL tournament after this.

Lehigh (9-4, 5-0 PL) is #16 in the DI Coaches Poll but they are not as good as they were last season.  They do have quality wins over Villanova and Penn State.  More significantly, they've beaten all other PL teams by at least 3 goals (their toughest game was at Holy Cross).

Do we stand a chance?  Not on parchment, we don't.  But I'm witnessing rapidly improving play from our bunch - enough to be convinced that we'll make a game of it.  Keep in mind that, while we got trounced by Bucknell and Army, we nearly beat Navy and the Holy Cross and Colgate games were much tighter than the final score would indicate.

So no open nets, no ridiculous out-of-bounds passes, hit hard and wins some face-offs, and who knows?

The game will NOT be on All-Access (it should have been, though).  It will be on Lehigh's pay-per-stream for $7.95:

EDIT - I know that no one at the college actually reads this board, but how hard would it be for LSN to pay a rebroadcast license fee to the Evil Empire so that those of us who have LSN season subscriptions can watch this season-ending rivalry game in one of the PL's most popular sports?  Just a thought.

14-5 final.  Their guys were simply better than our guys.  Statistically there wasn't a huge difference other than shooting percentage.  I think they were at about 33% whereas we were around 11%.  It was a romp from the beginning with no spark from the Pards.  Tough way to end the season.

Worst loss of the season in terms of the final score, which is all that matters.  I would like to see/hear a non-BS evaluation of things from Rogalski.

No sarcasm. Distinct gap in talent. LU bigger, faster and more athletic. Clear that Pards knew what to do just not able to do so. Recruiting key to improve. He needs a couple of classes to build.. It will get tougher for all of us with Loyola coming in. PL may not be top 2 or 3 conferences yet but for depth of good teams , other than ACC dont see any other as good.

This year the Ivy is deeper, with four of laxpower's top 12.  Add in Loyola next year and the PL has a good shot to pass them.

Going forward, the ACC will lose Maryland - but will gain powers Notre Dame and Syracuse.    If they also manage to add Johns Hopkins as a lax-only member - which is possible - that league would then have an AQ and be way ahead of the rest.

Agreed - talent gap plus experience gap.  Pards are really young.  We lack any build-up of depth and we still need to get accustomed to the speed and physicality of DI play.  It will come, eventually.  The last two seasons it seemed as if we were playing to the extent of our capabilities.  This year I could see lots of areas to grow.

Let's face it - a first year head coach who replaces someone who was dismissed after years of weak performance does not inherit a strong team.  Rogalski is going to need at least two more recruiting classes to get up to par.  Still, I thing most Pard fans are going to demand some substantial improvement in Rogalski's sophomore outing.

This kind of loss to Lehigh is devastating.  Nowhere near as humiliating as it must seem to get destroyed in three televised basketball games in a single season, but devastating nonetheless.

137 - is there any possibility at all that Hopkins goes Patsy for lacrosse?  I'm thinking not but you might know better.

I have no idea - but my gut feeling is no.    First of all, with Loyola and Boston U joining, the league is up to 9 teams - which makes it the largest D1 lax league in the nation.  Also only leaves room for six ooc games.   Secondly, I'm not sure if JHU wants to follow an AI for their marquee sport.   I know that  some of their recruits would not have been admissible with PL rules.

Very difficult to win a national championship with an AI, which makes Yale victory in hockey especially noteworthy,
