@ Monmouth

A first year program that hasn't won a game all season but has played teams a lot closer than expected.  Feels like déjà vu all over again.  They are winning only 23% of their faceoffs so maybe we'll at least break even.

If we can not win this, we might as well go watch softball.....and I hate softball.
NewGuy

Not going to be easy. Held Lehigh to 13 and scored 7 on them. We can only hope!

Pards have a schedule full of first year teams.  But these guys lost to Wagner for chrissake. That's bottom of the barrel.

Monmouth's coach was a FOGO at Rutgers; shockingly, though, Monmouth (.233) has even a worse FO %age than do the Pards (.318).  Who knew this was possible?

Monmouth's entire roster consists of freshman.  They're all first year players.  If ever there was a team that a college with 100-plus years of lax history, featuring a roster packed with players from blue-chip programs, should beat it is Monmouth.  On paper we're hands down the better team.

So my best guess is we'll lose by three.  Maybe four.  By this evening Lafayette will have the honor of Worst Team in the Nation locked up all to itself.

And I thought we bottomed out in Terry's last year.....

They lose this one and parents and girlfriends (75% of a lax crowd anyway) aren't even going to show up for the next few.

Looks like Monmouth has two goalies that split time (maybe switch at the half).  Both have played well, one with a 62% save percentage and the other with a 53% (by comparison, Jake Hyatt has a 51% save percentage).  They seem to be keeping them in most games.  The Pards D better show up and/or the offense needs to improve its shooting accuracy to have a chance.  It is amazing that it feels like we are the underdog in this game.

4-2 us at the half.  Hard to speculate beyond the score when only looking at stats.

9-5 its a win, not pretty, not good competition, but its sure better than another loss.   Hard to say a whole lot more - the other things we have been droning on about are all still issues.  But, at least for today, its a win.
Bogus Megapardus

.722 FO, 2-4 EMO (vs 0-4), 11-13 clear, 33 GB and 23 SOG.

It's the little things.

Yes, a win is a win but that was a very sloppy performance by both teams with many unforced errors.  We will lose to Holy Cross if we play like that on Saturday.  The offense got on something of a roll in the 3rd quarter but as opposed to BU, Monmouth really did look like a first year program with mostly freshmen.  Having said all this, our guys really needed this one.

A win is a win for gosh sakes.  The ride back to Easton was probably fun for a change.

As Howie Rose would say, "Put it in the books!"

WINNING MATTERS.

Perhaps I was a tad critical of the boys, ed65.   Cool

But still, PardsLax is correct - this cannot go on.  Holy Cross becomes a litmus test, of sorts.  Lafayette is one of the originators of collegiate lacrosse.  We ought not be forever trying to "resurrect" the program.

No prob, Bogie.  You know the game well, and I suspect your crititiques are spot on.  Coach Rog can only play the players he has: he is not the problem.  The solution is better players, more scholies and much more emphasis from the Admin on a growing sport, especially here in the Northeast.  I don't understand why it has been such an uphill fight to turn this program around.  Doesn't the Admin see the steep rise in interest in Lax, both mens and womens?

And the womens program used to be very good - not sure what happened there.  For a few years there was too much coaching turnover but that has not been the problem lately.
