A dismal Saturday

All the teams lost today.  These types of days are totally despressing.  The overall athletic program seems to be in a funk.  What to do??

Different things going  - not excuse but u will have this on occasion

Msoccer - Dennis is a really good defensive coach - offense not so much.  They need to find scorers and creators - who doesn't

W soccer - solid coach team rebuilding and needing to learn how to finish and win close ones

FH - transitional year without a bona fide scorer

VB - dunno seems improved overall

FB - need some directional and leadership change

No argument with any of your points, seen.  It is just discouraging to see the spate of losses, especially in the PL.

I am tired of funk and excuses. I am not picking on any one team but for example you have to ask yourself why we lose a coach that was named the top coach in division one on a team that was ranked 10th in nation with scholarships. Secondly that was the most attractive job in Divison one at the time. Are we seeking the best???. Are our objectives clear. Are our goals too mundane. In administrative actions is the question asked ," Is this making us  better and improving the experience for current student athletes and are we making ourselves more attractive to recruits?"

Focus on that and maybe you are getting a clearer picture. We are now looking at a year with not one championship. Don't get me wrong we CAN be successful at out present level in Division one and the patriot league but it takes will and leadership and seeking and attracting the best at every level!!

Not only did we lose, we got shutout in everything but football.

Don't worry, football will put forward its best effort to match that feat next week.

Culture of losing. McCutcheon needs to go. Move him into fundraising like was originally planned or just fire him. The department needs a reboot.

Yada, yada, again, and over and over.  What does Bruce do exactly?  Does he have any authority?  Is he really responsible for anything?  Whose permission does he need to hire a coach?  Fire a coach?  Can anyone name 3 real decisions that he's made?

Bruce is a kiss butt yes man and Joe Sterrett isn't and look at the results.

We have no leadership, enough is enough. We are making investments in scholarships and we should not waste this opportunity for many reasons. Action is needed!!

You of course mean 3 GOOD decisions that made a difference!

I'll take anything.  I honestly don't have a clue as to what the man does.  He seems to be a shadow figure with no authority and no real responsibility.

How about a suggestion to our new President: who, after all, came from a winning program at Middlebury, albeit in D-3 which is entirely different than D-1.

Whether she wants to wait a year to evaluate or just look at the record vs. Lehigh or our positon in the PL.  We are no where near competive in winning PL Championships or competing for the trophy (whatever it is called) that is for most PL championships.

If I were the new President, I would take a long, hard lood at the Athletic program and come up with some solutions to fix it.  While we may not be able to compete out of conference in some sports, we certainly could do a lot better in the PL.  Of all people, Alice Gass at LU seems to get the importance of sports.  Perhaps she is listening to Alums.

Despite all of the moping, FH topped HC 4-0 and men's soccer defeated newbie Boston U 2-0.  Welcome to the PL.
