at Army

Came down to Christl.  Pards by 7 at half. Danielle shooting lights out.  Need to hold off Army energy in 2nd half.  Sarah should be playing more than 1 min.  Have not given mens score. [/i]
Andy

Pards by 4, 1min to go.y
Andy

Brutal finish.    THX for update c2.

Sickening loss after girls had fought off Army comeback to lead with under a min.  Emily misses a layup off a beautiful give and go, but we control rebound. Dani eventually fouled, makes 1 of 2 to put us up by 3 with 23 secs. Army dribbles to directly under basket, Springer fouls but  Army makes the basket. Army misses game tying foul shot, but gets long rebound, drives to score. 5.7 secs, timeout, we dont even get a shot off. Nausea.

Clearly the girls need to learn how to win games like these.  Homan was invisible - big disappointment.

This season is on the ropes and we're only two games in.

It's a very young team. Hopefully leadership and confidence will surface.

True. However, l & c in the form of sr  McGorry played 1 min. maybe under the weather. IDK

Offense last night was get ball in to danielle.  Good shooting first half, several turn and shoot baseline and  a couple from paint.  Right now prob is if not in perfect position, she cant get to a better position. Really dont want her to dribble.  A drop step with one bounce would be nice.  Seems a struggle to get it to her when just putting it up high should work.  Anyway, I think she's improved alot.  As edmc pointed out, Emily not much of a presence last night.  Rotation still seems a work in progress.

I guess the real question here is are we in a better place now than we were under our former coach?

The answer to that is most decidedly YES.  Unfortunately, this is not a good week to be asking that kind of question.

Oh for the love of God - it bothers me when I'm the most rational guy on this forum.

We lost our top 3 scorers off of an 11-19 team. Nolan has ONE class of her people under her belt. 2 of the 3 start. They are good players and (gasp) sometimes inconsistent which wouldn't be the first time that has happened to freshmen. The other two are coming along - one is caught in a numbers game at her position and one obviously needs some time - which she's getting.

After 2 years Tavani was 4 and 17, Ohanlon was 17 and 39...You don't turn around programs overnight.

Sorry, my question was more retorical.

Sorry I came across like a dolt.

We will know a hell of a lot more about this team during their second trip through the league.
