Men lose another heartbreaker in OT on a joke foul call with 2 seconds left
2012Pard

Is there a national ranking for most games lost in overtime?

I feel like this season has been particularly frustrating because we've really not been totally outclassed by many other teams in the league, we just keep losing very close games in the final seconds.

Groundhog Day! It's getting old.

Two chances at the end of regulation to extend our lead to 6, can't get it done. Then 3 secs left in OT, our guy jumping up and down, lets them inbound directly under the basket.  Guys play so hard, deserved this one.

I had the audio off but it didn't look like anybody complained on that fatal foul. AU got the ball right under the basket. That's what did us in. Three-shooting and rebounding look like the difference. Mostly 3s.
These guys can play. Something is missing, what it is, nobody knows. It's a shame that this has to be a long bus ride home.

Didn't 137 insist that refs dont make that call to decide a game?

Actually, not 3 secs left when we let them inbounds under the basket, 1 sec left on shot clock.

There were 3.2 seconds on the game clock and 1 second on the shot clock when AU inbounded the ball.  On top of that, the Eagles also didn't have a timeout.

I was at this game, and it was a tough loss.  Considering the Leopards aren't a good team, I thought they played very solidly tonight, particularly on the defensive end.  They had the game in their hands but didn't execute in the last minute of regulation while up 4 points, and then Auston Evans missed 2 big free throws in overtime after a hard foul (which I thought the officials should have reviewed for a flagrant; to be fair the basket support blocked my view of the exact contact).

That's 5 OT losses this season. Couple that with a few others we couldn't close out in regulation and it has been a season of frustration.
We are seeing a development of the younger guys, but, I would agree with a poster that there is "something" missing.
When we had a chance to close it out we short armed shots and missed FTs. Not like a FOH team. We need some success to build some confidence or is it the other way around?
We are at the hangar on Sunday and the pre season favorites are playing like it. It could be ugly.

The effort is there… you have to feel for the guys. But a young team that is bound to get better.
