Baseball FeverGetting excited about the weekend. Awesome first game matchup--Army's Hill vs Navy's Harris. Army won the regular season duel between those starters--as well as three out of four--however Harris pitched great, don't know why he was pulled after five scoreless innings. Cole White is an excellent second starter for Army, both have stud closers.
I assume Kamine will start on Saturday. Wonder if Ted will be moved to pen with regular Sunday starters, Reese and Atkins, pencilled in for games two and three?
Xbo--if champ series goes three games, I assume both Sunday games are nine innings?
Xbo--you've seen all the games, whom would you rather see us face?
GO PARDS!!

Really good idea that they played Brown in a post-season exhibition... great way to grease the wheels against a good team. I suspect the Pard 9 will face a 'super team'.. i.e. Rice, UNC.. too bad our game vs. Rutgers got called... a win there would have really boosted our resume. At the time, our baseball RPI was in the 50s... it has fallen since then..

Well, P4L, we get that second shot at Rutgers. With a well pitched game, I assume Reese, our kids can certainly get this game.
I wasn't there, but yesterday's affair had to be very frustrating. Kamine surely earned their respect and, facing a top pitching prospect, we matched their hit total and had more extra base hits. Our aggressiveness is born out of a dearth of power. It's worked well for us, and is what made watching them this year so much fun. I wouldn't want them to change now, but, man, those base running outs at third can make a fan go grayer. Anyway, it's a new day. BEAT RUTGERS!!

Unfortunately the win over Rutgers was not meant to be... I saw the highlights on News12 NJ on Sunday... we almost had 'em, but just ran out of innings and could not hold their powerful lineup in check. As profiled hear, Frazier (their top player) was a Toms River Little League Champion in '98... the Rutgers manager also had a lot of praise for Joe Kinney and our program in the papers.
Overall, a fun and great season... good job Pard 9!

If memory serves Casey Gaynor, one of the RU pitchers, was also on that TR LL squad. As you said, congrats for a great season!

Yeah, I feel badly for our kids who competed and gave their all. You have to like your chances with six strong innings from Ted backed by seventeen hits including three doubles, two triples and two dingers, but the bullpen had a tough day--it wasn't meant to be. As a Pard fan I'm real proud of how this group played the game. Thanks and best of luck to our seniors who've put LC baseball back on the map.
