BaseballWe caught the second game at Lehigh on Saturday. I just want to mention that in pretty much a must win situation with his team hitting a measly .240 entering the contest, soph Jeremy Atkins came up huge. It was a joy to watch as he used great control (one BB), a wicked, sharp breaking deuce and an effortless delivery in going the full 9. He got support in the form of a couple homers and some terrific fielding by Froio in center.
We weren't there for Sunday's games, but apparently the bats went cold again in the opener. Hopefully the night cap marks a breakout point for the team at the plate.
We've wasted some tremendous starts from the young staff. The blown saves to Navy and LU will haunt us. We're on the road the next two weekends vs two teams tied for first: HC and a suddenly hot Army team. Man, we need Ezekiel to break out in a big way. GO PARDS!
It was good to see Xbo at the game, wish he would post.....
