Bison baseball in the wilds of Lewisburg

Bednar pitches well AGAIN and the time takes Game 1.  In Game 2 they just cannot string some hits together against the Bison starter who went 9, much to his credit.

Sunday is really important if this team has any hope of making the PL Playoffs.  Need some hitting with RISP.

Leopards take game 1 on some fine work by Toby Schwartz.  Win in Game 2 will set up a very meaningful series with LU next weekend.

The team happily takes Game 2 in Bison Land so the PL record is now 8-8 which keeps the team in 4th place.  Alex Woisinski (sp) hit a clutch 3 run homer in the 8th inning to do some serious damage.  LU took two from Navy today much to my surprise and maintains 3rd place as Navy falls into 2nd.  Holy Cross goes into 1st place by virtue of two wins at West Point (impressive as it is always tough to win on the banks of the Hudson).

One interesting thing about the League this season is LC has played nearly ten fewer games than the rest of the teams due to all the early season cancellations.

So next weekend will be four against LU in Easton and a shot at 3rd place in the league or 2nd (a long shot).  Of course, four losses could take the team out of the playoffs if Army or Bison sweep in their series next weekend.  Lots of possibilities.

I'll be a the games on Saturday weather permitting.  Hopefully there will be a good crowd to watch this very meaningful series.

Missing the playoffs seems unlikely with Bucknell and Army playing the top two teams in the league, but it would still be nice to take care of business against the guys from down the road rather than backing in to the postseason.

Leopards didn't have much luck against Holy Cross or Navy in the regular season, but we had two one-run losses to each of them. One or two timely hits and it's a very different conversation right now.

Best of luck to the guys down the stretch. They definitely have the ability to make some noise, they just need to do it all (hitting/pitching/fielding) at the same time for another couple of weeks.

Putting together for "another couple of weeks" sounds good Marooner.
