What a tremendous player!   One of Tavani's great recruiting coups.

Two time NJ state champ and first team AS at Ramapo.  A two-time AS selection.

Two time Patriot League champion.

Two time All-Patriot League.

8 tackles in the Pards huge "program changing' win over Richmond in '04.

5 tackles in the Pards 24-10 defeat of Lehigh in '04.

7 tackles and a sack in the '04 playoff game vs Delaware.

6 tackles and an INT in Pards win over Richmond in '05.

10 tackles and 3 sacks in Pards defeat of Lehigh in '05.   Tremendous performance by Blake and one I'll never forget.

9 tackles in the '05 playoff game vs Appalachian State.

NFL Europe's leading tackler in '07.

7 special teams tackles and 2 forced fumbles for Bills vs KC last season. Amazing!

At $435,000/yr as a third year ST player,  one is a target of GM's cost cutting.   If this is it, its been a heck of a ride and a lucrative one! I feel privileged to have been able to watch him play.  But I'm not counting Blake out just yet.

He played well last year.  He has a chance to get picked up, perhaps even again by the Bills, after they clear some rosyer space.

Costanza has signed with the Browns.

Thanks, Rock.

Browns claim LB Costanzo
06.17.2009
The Cleveland Browns have been awarded linebacker Blake Costanzo off waivers from the Buffalo Bills.

Costanzo entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the New York Jets in 2006.He was waived prior to the 2006 regular season before going to camp with the team again the following year. He spent a portion of 2007 on Buffalo's practice squad before being promoted to the Bills' 53-man roster for the final three games, during which time he tallied seven special teams tackles. He played in all 16 games as a reserve with Buffalo last year and the led the club with 26 special teams tackles, in addition to recording a pair of forced fumbles.

(note: stat sheet shows 15 solo tackles)

Costanzo was a three-year starter at Lafayette College where he finished his career with 307 tackles, 18 sacks, three interceptions, 12 passes defensed, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. Born on April 14, 1984, Costanzo attended Ramapo High School in Franklin Lakes, N.J.

Reason why Costanzo picked up by Browns
Chris Brown

The reason why waived Bills LB Blake Costanzo was picked up by the Browns is pretty straightforward.

Costanzo was with Browns head coach Eric Mangini in New York with the Jets back in early 2007. He knows his value on special teams. Heck Costanzo had six special teams tackles in one game last year for the Bills, which is a ridiculous number that I had never seen before.

Unfortunately Costanzo didn’t get much love from the AP writer in Cleveland who spelled his name like the popular Seinfeld character (Costanza). Trust me Blake doesn’t look anything like George.
