Boston 68-47

LC shot 4-29 in the first half. I don't know how that can be. That may be a record.
Overall, the 3-point shooting was better than the total percentage. Monty hit double figures.
Boston had 55 rebounds to Lafayette's 31.
Just an ugly day.
Players are supposed to have "short memories," after loss, coaches say.
Fans do too.
Lafalum

It must be the worst half of basketball I have seen from a Lafayette team.BU is mediocre. But like you said we have to forget a bout it!!!
Kpard

After racing out to a 8-0 lead on Weds. night, this was just plain ugly in the first half. It was almost comical it was so inept. Let's. Move on and forget all about this.
SixtyEighter

Not as close as score indicates against a struugling (formerly struggling) team. Back to the drawing board as the wheels fall off.One comment - Jones has played Fran so many times he knows what to do.

Maybe Bison can do some research into how many Met College types are on their other varsity sports teams.

To put it very succinctly, BU absolutely does not belong in the PL.

So Ed65, did you hear us saying  "we doesn't b'long in the PL"  again the other night in our locker room.  Did you make the trip?  Last time I checked the score y'alls got y'alls butts kicked.  You know all us folk don't do school up here, so excuse my english.  Are you whining about the calls like your board members are about Army?

It is very obvious what your problem is;  Your coach needs glasses.  Not an ounce of diversity in the starting rotation.  All of us knows how he is. The biggest covert racist in the game of basketball today.  Tryin' to cover it with bringing "jack slack" (#12 ) off the bench as 6th man.  He must be yo' "yes" man cause his game is suspect. I bet your coach thinks he's some type of defense specialist cause he's a "black" kid.  The tall skinny player #4 (I think he started) was a joke.  Please tell me he is the coachs' son.  Nobody really cares how much your PG can score but thanks for the hype that told us just how to guard him. He may be quick but five foot nine and no left hand won't even get you a pack of gum in the PL.  No defense dude.  Sounds like he's got his family on your board anyway. The mixed looking kid must of missed practice because he was half way decent.  The bearded kid had a clutch shot but we just beat him back down on "d" and caused a rotation problem.  Slow, slow, slow!

Your coach has been known to say publicly that he can't find very many academically ready African American kids that are athletic to play for him.  Tell him to look past his long pinocchio nose,  they are all in the Ivy league, the Patriot league and in College everywhere.  Maybe he can ask [Yale] Coach Jones.  You know, the brother to the other Coach Jones.  The fact of the matter is, he doesn't want them.  I know how he treated Bilal Abdullah years ago.  Had a tight rope around his neck until he needed him senior year and HAD to let the noose loose.  Point guard, Johnson wasn't his starting choice. African American kids have to scratch and fight to earn their stripes in your coach's system.  Your privileged ones just show up up and get time. Ugly dude ugly!

Give a few of us a schollie and tell us to shut the hell up and just be happy we can go to school free, right?  Bring in that one little soft spoken African American coach for show and put a muzzle on him.  The big dorky looking coach that makes all the other decisions likes to talk down to us folks.  I heard what he does.  Another racist in your program.  It's the culture of your school from top to bottom dude.  Been like that for years.

Sorry Charlie [or Ed65], doesn't look like this will be yo' year in basketball!

Thank you Ben for your inspirational insight about our coach and the program, I'm sure a committee is being formed at this moment to address your concerns  Rolling Eyes

Wow! Dude! Is your ax nice and sharp now? Still smarting from that big time @$$whooping we laid on you in the playoffs last year? Coach Jones did a nice job last week in his game planning. February 6 is circled on the calendar and Coach O has been to a few rodeos. See you in Easton, Sammy.

BTW, how's that diversity doing on the Terrier's hockey team?

No gum, just all-rookie team in 2013; 3rd team all-league and Patriot League Tournament MVP as a soph.

Insulting college kids and calling coaches racists anonymously.  A coward's move.
Andy

Bilal Abdullah on Coach O in HIS words:

Lastly and most importantly is ‘Coach O’ [O’Hanlon]. I he is a basketball genius. He is literally unmatched as far as teaching Xs and Os of the game. He molds his players into fundamentally sound players and, as he would say, he taught us to ‘play basketball,’ not just to play. I can agree with that: he molded me into an all around player and drastically improved my ability to read the game and play basketball correctly.

As a person, Coach O is someone I’ll have a relationship with the rest of my life. He’s a great person, a man of smarts, discipline, and strong values. If you ever get the chance to sit down and have a beer with him (post college, of course) it’s almost as if he was never my coach but someone I went to school with and became extremely good friends with.

I simply won't respond to the tripe thrown out by this fellow.  In the meantime, as someone pointed out, last year's Leopards put a whipping on the the Terriers in the playoffs.

LC's "racist culture":

Scholarship recipients are living the dream

By Aida Mallard
Special to the Guardian

Published: Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 4:44 p.m.

Years after receiving the prestigious King Commission Edna M. Hart Keeper of the Dream Scholarship Award, the recipients have been keeping the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream alive through academic and professional achievements and a commitment to civic involvement and social justice....
John F. McKnight Jr., who also received the award in 1999, lives in Easton, Pennsylvania, where he is the dean of intercultural development and the deputy Title IX coordinator at Lafayette College.

McKnight said his career has been almost entirely devoted to pursuing social justice, which is "right in line with King's vision for society.”

McKnight said he does this by providing students with opportunities to interact with students of different cultures to promote understanding. He also works with community organizations, including the Boys and Girls Club, inviting students to attend programs about King's legacy at the college, and also providing them with opportunities to interact with college students and understand the importance of getting a good education.

He said receiving the award impacted his life greatly.///
