Bucknell Game

This will be an interesting game tonight - with long-time BU coach Kathy Fedorjaka having been forced out late yesterday after a campaign against her by ex-players, alums, relatives of ex-players, ex-coaches, etc for abusive behavior.   She was also a poor coach, but that wasn't the issue at this point.

What the immediate effect is on the current players - with the interim coach not even having had a day to coach them - is anyone's guess.   But in the long run, this is a very positive development for Bison women's basketball.     There is no reason for the program not to be a contender every single year.

I wasn't aware the coach was gone.  By a popular uprising, no less.  Isn't she married to the lacrosse coach?

WOW....

Forced out in the middle of January?  It must have been one hell of a revolt. The wheels must have really come off the bus for Bucknell to decide to send a 15-year coach packing in January. Her farewell statement is comical. It's the kind of statement you make when you are forced out AFTER the season.

Anyone ever notice we never got such a statement from Tammy? I have to believe that Bruce would have let her resign - it's SOP. I guess she decided to play hardball. I heard from a couple of sources she was bitter about it.

Either way, usually this thing  happens when there is some sort of public embarassment to the institution like Woody Hayes or like some other incident that happened at a central PA schoool recently.

Take notes.  Perhaps there are strategies that can be used to get rid of the Lafayette Trustees.

You have to wonder if the Amy Zehner defection was the straw that broke the camel's back.  This really clouds the situation up in Buffalo today, and the Pards could find themselves swept up in a whirlwind if they aren't careful.

Buffalo?  Carney, you lost me on that one.  You meant Bison?

Nice win for the girls at Bison land.  Close game even though Bison Chicks stink.  And the coach resigned on Friday.  Wow.

Girls did not shoot particularly well tonight.  Only 49 points.  Bison are offensively challenged.

If the girls can beat HC at home on Wed, they will gain some confidence, for sure.

1.  Need to put the word "resigned" in quotes.

2.  BU has some players with offensive ability, but they are still running the Fedorjaka system - which would make anyone offensively challenged.    We'll see if the new coach is able to change much in-season.

The Bucknell Buffaloes reside in Buffalo, PA.

The Colgate mob resides on The Tundra

The 'saders are in Woo.

The ChickenSquawks are in Squawkville.

Get with the program.

Kidding aside, the Bison indeed reside in "Buffalo" - the team is named after the "Buffalo Valley," which stretches all the way from Chillisquaque to Millheim.

I'm sticking with "Buffalo Jump" from now on, though.

The last wild Bison east of the Mississippi was reportedly killed at Buffalo Crossroads - just a couple of miles from Bucknell's campus - around 1800.    No word on whether Carney was the shooter.

I don't own a firearm, but I did attend the Buffalo roast.  I plan to attend many more.
