Since you live in Bethlehem, you are no doubt aware that William Allen HS has had several male field hockey players, as well as a few other teams. It has been an Olympic sport and is played much faster than the women's game.

I never really understood why field hockey was a mainly female only sport. Also don't understand why we don't play team handball on this continent.

I've seen a few stories over the years about boys playing. It seems a little unfair to the girls. One coach said he regulated the boy's time.
I have colleagues from Asia who play.
The sport that might grow around here is lacrosse for both sides but the public schools are reluctant to start new sports with teachers getting fired.
The quality of play is about where soccer was 40 years ago.

Some kids go a long way to play with a club.
For a sport rarely played seriously or soberly in the U.S., water polo. Fun but tiring as hell.

Bucknell and Navy both play waterpolo in the CWPA (?) along with John Hopkins, Georgetown, Princeton, and George Washington. Their polo pool was attached to the old Davis Gymnasium. Not sure if they practice and play there or at a new facility. 137?
