Culture Change Part One

All this stuff you've heard about Lafayette athletes not being able to compete is a lot of horse dung.  Lafayette athletes, traditionally, love to compete.  All real Lafayette athletes love the challenge of competition.

Lafayette fans love a winner and will not tolerate a loser...The very thought of losing is hateful.

Now, a Lafayette sports team is just that--a team. It lives, eats, sleeps, competes as a team.  This individualism stuff is a bunch of crap.  The bilious bastards who write this stuff about sitting for the National Anthem and kissing the ass of every pressure group don't know anything more about competing and winning than they do about fornicating.

Lafayette College has the best facilities and equipment, the best spirit, and the best students in the world.  You know, I actually pity those poor Patriot League teams we're going up against.  By God, I do.  We're not just going to compete with those lousy Patriot League bastards...We're going to beat them by the bushel.

The other teams are the enemy.  Beat them by 30 points.  Embarrass them before friends and family.

There's another thing I want everyone in the Lafayette community to remember:  I don't want to be getting any texts saying we are doing our best.  WE ARE CONSTANTLY IMPROVING AND WE'RE NOT INTERESTED IN A .500 RECORD.  We're going to hold onto our Patriot League opponents by the nose and kick them in the ass.  We're going to kick the hell out of them all the time, and we're going to go through them like crap through a goose!

Now, there's one last thing:  I don't want any of our alums to say (when sitting around the fireside with a grandson on a knee thirty years from now and he asks, "How did you do against Lehigh?") "They got too good. Hardly ever won."

Alright, now you know how I feel.
