D J Lenahan Toledo Via Wilson HS

D J Lenahan Dismissed from Toledo.Didnt we recruit him? He has 3 years left. Maybe Stan Clayton could help if he is qualified.

Bill, I don't follow. Is he off the team or out of school?  And why is dismissed from the team or school?

We recruited him heavily and as I understand his final choice was between us and Toldeo. Was he actually kicked off the team or school?  If so I dont see us taking him.

As always, I defer to you in all things football, Franks.  Still, I have these blurred visions rattling around in my memory banks:

Lenehan was convinced that he could play at the I-A (FBS) level.  He was right.

We did recruit him.  In fact, there were unfounded - and probably ridiculous - rumors that his high school coach was offered a position on the Lafayette coaching staff.

The final stories about him accepting a a scholarship to Toledo stated that his other choices included Lehigh.  No mention of Lafayette.

Oh yeah, and for what it's worth, as of 5 minutes ago he was still on the website roster at Toledo.

I heard rumors that he was coming to Lafayette if he didnt get a FBS scholly.  That could certainly be incorrect as it was nothing concrete, and perhaps not entirely true.  Either way the kid is a good QB and would have done very well in the PL.  As Carney states  see nothing mentioned that he is leaving Toldeo and perhaps the original poste could fill us in more.

Not sure if he is off the team but there was no mention of him in the spring football wrap-up article:  http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/team/toledo-rockets-football/teamreport

And it explicitly mentions the back-up, Alex Pettee, as having a good spring game in replacing their 3-year starter, Aaron Opelt, who sat out due to a shoulder injury.

it doesn't look like he is/was in the future plans for Toledo.  This happens when you bring a new coach in.

That true. DJ seems to be more of a run/pass type QB and perhaps that didnt fit into the new system at Toldeo.

Or he could have sat out spring with injury

E-T reported over the weekend that he is rumored to be considering D2 East Stroudsburg of the PSAC. The coaching staff certainly knows whats going on with DJ's high school coach being married to one of our trainers.
