DB Kyni Scott commits

Kyni Scott  6-1 170

From my local paper--The Times Herald Record

Kyni Scott, Pine Bush senior RB: Part of the resurgence, he ran for 1,133 yards on 143 carries, including 11 touchdowns.

Pine Bush's Scott commits
Pine Bush senior Kyni Scott has verbally committed to attend Lafayette College and play for its football program.

Scott expects to play in the secondary at Lafayette, a Football Championship Subdivision program (formerly Division I-AA).

He said he received a financial package that covers about 95 percent of the $50,000-plus it costs to attend the school annually.

Scott was known better as a running back at Pine Bush, and was a Varsity845 second-team all-star this past season.

"I loved playing running back, but I'm looking forward to playing defense," Scott said.

Scott's journey to Lafayette was an interesting trip. Pine Bush coach Jim Wright was talking with Lafayette defensive coordinator John Loose about another Pine Bush player.

Wright said he mentioned Scott to Loose, "if he needed a (defensive back) type."

Wright sent Loose some video, mostly of Scott as a running back to show his athleticism. Scott played some in the secondary at Pine Bush, but spent more time as a linebacker.

Wright said Loose liked what he saw, and came to watch Scott's basketball practice again to see Scott's athleticism. Scott took an official visit this past weekend, then committed verbally on Sunday.

Scott said he'll make a written commitment on Feb. 4, which is national signing day.

Andy ..Kyni looks like a great get! I found some vids of him.
