First off, best wishes to Tammy and her bout with cancer. Hopefully it will never return.
Again, pardon me as I am still learning the freshman names. One thing for sure they will deepen Tammy's bench. In practices and a scrimmage they have shown some promising talent. They run well and go agressively to the hoop.
Practices centers on endurance and moving the ball. Offense seems to be the same, but hopefully with these new ladies, we will be able to drive to the hoop more and work the ball in at times without relying on the three point shot.
The freshman guard from last year is out for the year with an acl, I believe. One girl was out of practice due to mono but is coming back into the fold now. Gomez does what she can; to me actually unbelieveable considering the pain her leg must give her to just get down the court.
Recruiting; I don't know or see as much as on the men's side, but that doesn't mean nothing. I do know they, like the men, are looking at a much more talented pool of players.
First women's game is on 11/12.
Go Pards!

Thanks for the report RefRider!
Jenkins is out huh? It's never smooth sailing for this program is it? With Stetler gone I'm sure they were looking to her for more minutes.
Can't argue with emphasizing conditioning (who could?) but I hope that doesn't mean they're gonna try and fly through their offense like they did last year. Too many turnovers, not enough spacing. We aren't a great outside shooting team and Stetler was by far our best three point threat.
We gotta be stronger at the line. Even the mediocre 68% they shot last year is misleading because they missed SO many 1-1's at key times.
In Garner, VVDV and Purr we have a solid and experienced, if undersized, front line. I'm very curious to see Wright play. 5'11 guard/forward--we used to be lucky to land 5'11 centers! YEAH!!....From a great basketball area! YEAH! A sprinter AND Shot putter in high school...Fast AND Strong..YEAH! Can she be the kind of player that can slash into the lane and draw some attention and unload? I guess we'll see...I shouldn't put that kind of attention on a frosh I guess...
Smith had a great touch around the basket and let's hope she had a good offseason as she certainly has "upside" as we say in...wherever it is they say it...HOpefully she's ready to provide quality depth in the front court.
13 home games! Experience at every position...A new girl from Maryland...I'm jazzed! Can't wait to see what we've got.
