Emily Homan

Emily Homan was named Patriot League Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week in the same week. Its only happened a few times before.

Emily looks like the real deal and from PA no less.

Two excellent recruits in two years - this team should get better.

Tom Housenick picks he Leopards for 6th in the Patriot league:

He says the play on the perimeter is still suspect.  Lack of an outside threat was a big problem last year.  Do we have any freshmen who are stepping this up?

Based on Housenick's track record of predictions from last year, you might do better tossing a coin.

He's certainly right about perimeter play. Going into tonight's game, our guards (Freeland, Jordan, Springer, Peabody, Manning, Downy, and Macklin) are a combined 86 of 302 from the floor, or 28%.  We are even worse from beyond the arc at 22 of 116, or 19%.

My God the crap that passes for journalism these days. Carrying Lehigh to third place will be their "winning tradition"  but this is as long as they have "steady contributions from role players." That's from the Taunters local paper! No interviews, no freshmen to watch, no mention of how teams are doing thus far this season, no....anything that can't be done without a cursory glance at the media guide. I'm not nearly as down on the Morning Call as our buddy C2 - but this is middle-school level stuff.

Yes - we are a disaster from the perimeter - so far. But dont' negate the Fiacco factor as other teams are shooting just as poorly against us. This is especially noteworthy given that our non-conference schedule is no joke.

The nine teams we've lost to are a combined 81-40 and even the one team we lost to with a losing record - Monmouth - has a victory over the team with the winning tradition and a recent win over 'Nova.

We aren't great from outside - but I think we'll shoot better against PL teams.

No - our wins aren't exactly against a murderers row of good teams, but the firs step in becoming a good team is to beat the bad teams.

Is this our year? Probably not - but outside of FH this might be our healthiest program right now.

Carney: if you don't mid a wry comment (said with a wink of an eye), the Golf Team is pretty good and has a PL Championship!

Andy doesn't recognize our golf championship. Does  the league include it in the Presidents Cup?

Andy don't do golf. He caddied for me once and lost two of my clubs.

Our own Cousin Brucie was interviewed by Gary Laubach during Wednesday's doubleheader and had a lot of good things to say about the current state of the Lady Leopards.  He feels that their play has elevated to a higher level since the Maryland blowout.

My grandmother was born in Scotland and used to respond to anyone who called her "Scotch" with "Nay, Scotch is fer drinking."  Same thing with wry.  Works well in a Manhattan.  Try it.

Both of my grandparents were born in Scotland.  "Scotch" isn't even a word.  It's "Scots whisky"  and one is "Scot" not "Scotch."

You had me so deep in the woods in search of your Titleist I just abandoned them and reached for the GPS.   Hit it straight once in a while!

Probably just my personal hangup. However, I think edmc gets my drift: if, in defense of our athletics dept, all we've got is "well, there was that golf championship",  we're in trouble.

Amen, Andy.
