First on site observation of the team against Loyola

Yes we lost to Loyola, a  more experienced and maybe more athletic team, but I was impressed with some of our freshmen who played a lot minutes. The freshman from Lithuania showed me a lot with an ability to elevate. If he can get to the weight room and put on 20 or 30 pound he could be quite a handful at the post.

The team never gave up and almost came back. This is a rebuilding year but with a couple of additions Lafayette could have something good going in the next several years.

By the way there must have been some kind of promotion with a very good  crowd at the game, overwhelmingly local folks!

Not having Bryce for the last 13+ minutes of the game hurt. Hopefully he won't be out for too long.

While I'm not disappointed (well I am a little) with our lost to Loyola, I was more disappointed in how we played.  Loyola players seemed to get off shot after shot without a hand in their face. Our post players were not taking advantage of their height at times underneath on offense. Missing to many shots.  One player seem to have the attitude, for some reason, if he got the ball he was going to shoot no matter what the situation. This game could have been a "w" if we didn't have such a poor first half (26% shooting).
It was a t-shirt give away yesterday to the first 500 fans.

Poor shooting first half and some weak defense in the last 5-10 seconds of the shot clock sort of doomed us.
Hope Scott can return quickly. His shoulder was really bothering him after that hard screen that he didn't see in the first half.
Zalys played with much more confidence yesterday. He seems to struggle at time in prior games, but, he looked more adjusted yesterday.
It was a very nice crowd. I can't believe it was because of a tee shirt, but, what do I know?

I learned the good crowd was enhanced by a promotion with Easton school district.  Each elementary school student received freebies.  Great idea.

Well, they screwed the women's team last year when they cancelled school on a Wednesday at 10:00am because it might snow.  It was a scheduled "Education Day" and the students were scheduled to be at the 11:00am game. They would have learned how much change they should get when they purchase one of the overpriced food items. Of course it didn't snow until 7:00pm.

And we wonder why are schools are failing.
