Gate at Home

Glad to see a win over 'Gate.  I will never understand why the all time record in men's hoops against Colgate is so even.  They don't give a rat's behind about basketball up there.  It's an ice hockey "town."

Good wiin for a team down a few hands.   Anyone with insight re: Linder and Rufer?

Rufer not as serious. Lindner wants to play but a doubtful!! Both were at the game and not limping.

Finally! Got to see a little of what's coming. Evans, Zalys, and Klinewski were tough all day. If that Evans kid develops an outside shooting game, he's gonna be near impossible to guard. He has some great moves to the hoop and can finish. He also does a great job on the defensive end.
Nice win for the seniors to go out at home with.

Surprised there are so few comments on Saturdays win over Colgate. I guess we have more people rooting for the team to lose so they have something negative to say.

Anyway, I left right after the game to check on my summer home at Stone Harbor and didn't get to see the statistics until returning. Very impressed with the performances of the two freshmen, Evans and Zalys.  Although we will lose Zach, Scott, and Ben, the future looks bright with the returning group and the incoming freshmen.

Freshmen are always a question mark but I agree Evans could be a great player, Zalys has shown well all season and Klinewski is a tough, skilled battler and of course Lidner will be back. I like our chances next year. On the other hand if you looked at Colgate's roster... there are a lot of underclassmen.

The league is getting better in most every sport. Which get me back to the management of our whole Athletic Dept.

It's not your dream home, it's in your dreams.  Wink

32 tweeting about lack of PT a few days ago. Shouldnt do that.  Thought this last performance was his best of the season, however. Nice contribution from Stafford, too.

Colgate has done it with transfers, something we havent had since Knitter.

Lehigh isnt going away with their young talent and excellent recruiting. The Lefroy kid looks awesome and Ross only a soph, Kempton returns. A couple of 3 star kids in the incoming class and they beat us out on PF Lieb. Fair to say they kill us recruiting wise. Im not a Reed fan, but he can recruit.

Lots of overlap with Lehigh in the 2017 class so far - Kachelrais, Brooks, Iorio, Gadiddon.  Crucial to see how that works out as we look especially for Nick's replacement at the point.

Like the 2016s though. Scorers and Cherry who is pencilled in at C I believe, looks skilled.

Yes, Colgate's success has mostly been due to transfers.   Having said that, their freshmen class this year looks like the first good one they have had.  Regisford is a strong rebounder and can defend.   And Krmpotich has a lot of potential.   Their other two frosh could be solid players as well.

As for LU, I think the jury is still out a bit on Leufroy.   He ended up in a perfect storm of sorts, surrounded by a center who is the POY (Kempton), plus a PG who made 1st team All-PL and really improved his shooting (Ross), a very skilled and improved wing (Price) who is a lights-out shooter, and a 6-9 PF who hit 40% on threes.   The defense usually chose to leave Leufroy to double Kempton or Ross, which made his job easy.  Also he got to play 30 mpg because they had no competent subs at guard or on the wing.

Reed can definitely recruit but I'm not sure about him having two three star players - unless I completely missed something.   Andree got 3 stars from ESPN but nothing from Scout or Rivals.   Jordan Cohen is 2 stars with ESPN and nothing from the others.  And Lieb is 2 stars from ESPN and nothing from the others.  It looks like a good class - and Andree looks very good - but I don't think I'd trade Bucknell's incoming class for LU's.

Yes, apologies, two 3* last year, one this year.  That's three more than I can remember us having.

Think he may have bern referring to Holba who missed the season.

Interesting moment of discord in the pressure packed game with Gate. Tillotson and transfer #15 as teams lining up for an LC freethrow. Tillotson yells at coach to "take him out." Transfer counters with "take HIM out."  Never seen that before.

He had said "in the incoming class", but later post clarified.   Leufroy is another who got 3 stars from ESPN but nothing from anyone else.   Holba had two 3 star rankings.   If he is healthy, I expect him to be a better player than Leufroy.   Health is the big "if".    So many foot problems become chronic.

Tillotson is a punk known for outbursts of bad sportsmanship.   Usually it's aimed at opposing players or fans, not his own teammates.
