Holy Cross game

A good start with a few timely offensive rebounds, up 3.

Hold this lead and we have a winning regular season.  If Bucknell holds their lead we are eliminated from the league chase.

Great to see the team light it up tonight. In all likelihood, they will be the first Lafayette team with a winning record in almost two years!. Hoping we play like this in the playoffs!!! The brown stain next at the barn!!! Big game!!
Kpard

What a difference it makes when you are not playing from behind. Bryce has seemed to have caught fire here over the past few games. If Ptasinski can get his stroke back (made 4 - 3's in a row tonight) Maybe.......

Seth with 2 throw downs tonight? What was up with that?!

Brown ones lit it up down in Annapolis tonight. Scored 59 and still won...WOW! PL ballin at it's best! Rolling Eyes  Confused

Interesting, 30 comments when we lose to AU and only 3 comments when we beat HC. It appears the alumni are more interesting in losing than winning. So that's what the administration is giving you.

Didn't get to see the game, but glad they got back in win column. Hoping they can find a way to win at Stabler on "national TV."

Also, if the season ended today, we'd be playing at MC in the first round. I realize we won at their place earlier in the year, but MC and Bucknell are the two teams I'd most want to avoid.

This is a senior laden team that was supposed to compete for a championship. We beat the worst team in the league and let it get way too close down the stretch. What do you want, a celebration?  That said, I'll take it.  Let's keep it going. Yes, kpard, how 'bout those Seth dunks!
Grandpa Tom

Very HappyI know it is a little out of character for  me but, please allow me to rant just a little bit.  I have been so disappointed with this team this year.  We are a team heavily laden with sr.,  three 1,000. pt scorers, another one within striking dist. of 1,000. , one of the leagues best point guards, we have decent size, and numerous other positive qualities.  so, why are we only a middle of the pack team?   My opinion is that we don't play defense!!!!!!  Yes we beat HC the other night but had to score over eighty points to do it.  We are not going to play that well offensively every night.  if this team is going to finish strong and have a chance at making a run in the tournament we are going to have to start playing significantly better on the defensive end.  I don't like to name kids when being negative but of the top 10 players I  consider  only 2 of them even average defensive players and a couple guys who get quite a bit of PT as maybe  the worst defensive players in the league.  Well, maybe not that bad, but I don't think they could guard me and I am more than a few years past my prime.  Whew, I feel better now.   Teach it, demand it, and play the kids who play it.   GO PARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3 of the teams that lead the league scored 61, 61, & 59 and gave up 53, 50, & 53 on Weds. YAWN! I know we need to play defense, but, most of the time those games are like watching the paint dry!
LC Fan

I'll watch the paint dry if it results in a win. Right now all I'm seeing is RED with anger and frustration. Anger from the amount of money we're investing in mediocrity and frustration with the result.
pardfan

Comes down to whether Seth wants to play like a guy 6'8" or not.  Trist can't do all the work. NO   3- POINT SHOTS SETH    NONE    ZIPPO

                           Sincerely,

Defense is exactly the problem. Remember that Philly Inquirer article? Our philosophy is to simply out score and out shoot  the other team.

I don't care if we win a-la old Princeton 47-43... as long as we go 26-5 and make the tourney and have a chance to beat teams by limiting possessions, playing aggressive defense, and having high offensive efficiency on your controlled possessions.

A win is a win, no matter how you do it.  If the other team plays up tempo (HC??), you will have more chances and the score will be higher.

Big game vs. LU this weekend.  A win would put the team in a good place with 'Gate at home followed by a very tough game on the banks of the Hudson.

"followed by a very tough game on the banks of the Hudson"

The Army game is at KSC

The strange thing is that HC is usually one of the slower-paced teams in the nation.    The number of possessions in this game was a bit above average, but not a lot.   The biggest thing is that LC had its third-best offensive display of the year in terms of points scored per possession, behind only the Wagner game and the first Army game.

Thanks adc2.  I was planning to attend the game at West Point - i hour drive from my house.  Would have been funny if I went to Crystal Arena and there was no game!
