Holy Cross: Pards win 13-12 in OT

The Leopards won in Worcester this afternoon, 13-12 in OT.  While it's good to get the win, Holy Cross is one of the worst teams in Division I this year.  This does not bode well for the rest of the schedule or the tournament.

It would appear that other teams (a) have figured out how to disrupt the Pards' ball movement schemes and (b) that the Pards' defense just isn't getting any better.  Holy Cross is a team that could muster only 3 points against Navy and 2 points on Bucknell.

At the end of the day, though, a win is a win - the Pards are now 8-2 on the year, with games against Colgate, Army and Lehigh remaining.  All of those teams are much tougher than Holy Cross.

Thanks - I corrected it.

Yes - a win is a win (but still they should have annihilated those guys).  I am really, really pleased for this team and its magical season.  I can't wait for the two games at Fisher against Army and Lehigh.  I hope there's some promotion and a good crowd (1,000+) comes to watch.

And (fingers crossed) if Lafayette is the top seed then the whole tourney is at home on CBS College Sports.

This team is almost all seniors and we might never see anything like it again.  What they've already done for Lafayette lacrosse is incalculable.  The whole freakin' team deserves to go into the Lafayette HOF.

There were at least five guys with clip boards in the stands at Marist, apparently scouting us (or Marist, I suppose), Army for sure, the others unknown. Live scouting is prohibited in football, obviously not the case in lax.

I have done live scouting for HS and club teams myself.  It goes on all the time at the NCAA level.  I know for a fact that we have been scouted by other teams ever since the Navy win.
