I guess it was bound to happen

It was ugly all around. Our defense was fine but we could not get into a rythmn. We missed layups, open shots and three pointers. Lehigh has some athletes but I was not impressed with their play. They do not take care of the ball and they are mediocre shooters. Their guards are very quick and dogged our guys.
Detmer did not have one of his better games and Brown was pretty much shut down and only got 1 shot off for most of the first half.
Like I said i suppose we were due. Its a long season..
Onto Army!!!

On the Bucknell and Holy Cross boards they keep saying (after losses, of course) that the winner of this thing is going to have 3 or 4 losses.  To even be talking about "the winner of this thing" shows how far we've come.  What the hey, that's one.

I think we all knew we wouldn't go undefeated in league play. And, I think we all know that this will not be our only league loss.

We did not have the same focus we had in the BU game - too many TOs (many unforced), missed layups, poor foul shooting. But to me the difference in the game was our inability to control or at least neutralize, the paint. White and Carrington accounted for 29 of Lehigh's 30 points, almost all of them within 5 feet of the basket.

Everything about this game was terrible. When we finally took control of the game and were poised to runaway with it, lehigh goes on a ten nothing run. Right in the middle of that sequence was missed layups on our behalf. Detmer and Schmidt were just terrible all night. But what really burns me is that we had two chances to tie the game and we blow it. Forget who it was, but one of our guys simply just dribbled down court and shot a 30 foot three... uh, timeout fran? We had one or two. And what makes it even more aggravating is that lehigh isn't even good! Their team was terrible. If we get our act together for the next meeting, we will blow them out of Kirby.

Also, I am not resigned to the fact that we are going to lose a few more games (we will if we play like that). We have proven we are good enough against the rest of the league. My only question at this point is American. And playing with some more killer instinct (no more OT games).

We had em and let them off the hook. Plenty of games to go. The D was solid and hopefully we continue to improve and our younger guys contribute more and more. Mintz gets his hands on a lot of balls. Still hoping for several home playoff games.
GO Pards!
