Interesting story for Hobart LacrosseFormer Pl member in Lax Hobart College, had decided LAST week after a vote by the BOT to drop back to Div 3 . This is after they qualified for the NCAA tournament. Their BOT and president decided to reverse their decision 1 WEEK later after recieving emails and protests from alumni, current students and friends.....idiots. Another BOT totally out of touch with reality!! At least it didn't take a year, a study, and a change of presidents. By the way, Hobart won its game against Loyola with 1700 fans present under the lights brought in for the occasion. A victory over elitism, and ignorance!!!!

I agree that their decision was out-of-touch with reality.
Two clarifications -
1. Hobart did not qualify for the NCAA tournament. They were tied for 3rd/4th in their league (ECAC) and are nowhere close to an at-large bid;
2. Their game vs Loyola was an afternoon game eight days ago - played before the announcement was made about moving to D3, although there were rumors flying that morning. The official announcement and notification to the players was made after the game. The night game - their first ever - was actually played this past Friday night. Hobart lost 15-7 to long-time rival Cornell. BTW, the first lacrosse meeting between Hobart and Cornell was in 1896 - this game was their 130th meeting.
