Jim Dicker leaving for Temple

All over and from an impeccable source. Mitch Wein CFO also gone and there has been a resignation from the BOT of a VERY generous alumnus.
Pard4Life

Is this something beyond general turnover during a new admin? Were they pushed out?
Lafalum

Dicker obviously a better job, Wein going to Haverford ( so much for our friend Dan). The BOT resignation is concerning. I hear Massa may be gone but will probably move to Development. And of course there was the resignation of Wendy Hill the provost to be the Headmistress of a Main Line girls school.

Is that Allyson's cabinet less one??
NewXbo

Is this another deal where Dicker is back in 3 months? Or, is an indication that the new President is going to change our direction?
Lafalum

Why would you change your head of development on the eve of launching a 400 million dollar campaign? He is leaving for a better job I would guess. A large question is who will the AD report to since Jim was in charge of athletics.
Pard4Life

Who is the BOT?
ed65

I'm very sorry to hear that Jim Dicker is leaving.  I have an excellent relationship with him and like him.  He has been enormously helpful to my class.

Need some help. Who is Jim Dicker and all the others? Don't sound like Lafayette names I remember.

The number two man/woman in Catering would be my guess.  Word is that he/she doesn't care about winning either - and the appointment would show the relevance of athletics at Lafayette.

Dicker is the head of Development.  He oversees major donations and athletics.  He was recently given athletics oversight from a dean's office.  He wrestled at LC when we had a team and has been around since the 80s.  Highly visible at major events.

Massa was head of communications.

Wendy Hill was a neuroscience professor and Provost.

Mitch Wein was CFO.

We just have McCutcheon report to you c2!  Maybe we'd get somewhere.  I think it goes much deeper than the AD though.

No argument with Pard4 about "it goes much deeper than the AD.."

WINNING MATTERS

Thank you for the reply. One question leads to another. So why are all these people leaving now?

Massa will probably move to Development, it is unclear whether he will run the department. Question still on the table as to where athletics will go?? My feeling it will say a lot about the direction.
Pards Rule

Sad to see Jim leave. Know him and his wife quite well (she was in my class) and he has been a prime influence in Development and in his AD role. Temple is getting an excellent guy.

Totally agree Rule: Jim is an excellent guy who has given his all to LC.

His last day is April 26 and I understand he is taking vacation before. Kim Spang will assume a leadership role in the interim. Gary Evans will consult.
