His first name is actually Josh.

Looks like a good fit as a first assistant.  Sorry to lose the LC flavor from the bench and its impact on recruiting had hoped Farrell could really work with the big men - our chronic weak spot.

Here's his bio

A nice asst,but.....here goes... we need a strong black asst coach. That is not perhaps the easiest thing to say but it is the truth. Our record in attracting and retaining strong black student athletes in basketball in awful.  We need to make a concerted effort to get this done. Taking an asst from Steven's, who grew up in rural Pa ( he may be a great guy) does nothing for our recruiting which is part of the portfolio for an asst.

I believe we now have a young black assistant coach from Kings Point.

Do we have a name and a bio??

If the report is accurate, it would have to be Pershin Williams, who was the only black Kings Point coach last year.

Presumably there is some connection, since the Kings Point coach was a Lafayette assistant a few years ago.
Kiltedpard

and a GA Tech connection as well!

This is interesting...with a new cast of assistants.  Since assistants are usually involved in recruiting what are the consequence now that we are in prime recruiting mode time now!!
TheTruth

I wish both assistants had more experience but I do like them both.  the realization is we are a very small Division I school who can't afford to pay for experienced assistant coaches so we get up and coming coaches.  Both coaches have tremendous upside in that they are coming from different programs (my biggest knock against Drew and Mike) with Loeffler being a successful head coach.

I think this is a nice step in the right direction.  Now they need to expand the field house and move the basketball court like the athletic master plan suggests.

I can give the you the direct number for Jim Dicker VP for development. He will take credit cards.
TheTruth

I already have his number in my BB.  I don't think my check will even buy a shovel to start the digging.
