Lehigh

And so it goes.

16-6 loss to Lehigh to end the season.  Lehigh goes on to the playoffs (every game for them from now on will be on national television).  The Leopards just go home.

Thank you, seniors, for all your effort this season and for your four years of devotion to Lafayette Lacrosse.

We were not dogging it out there... I thought we played hard and kept fighting despite the score.  Lehigh is just much better and we suck.  It could have been 20-6, with those ringers...

Size was noticeable.  We were physical when we had to be.  But I had the feeling LU's best attackers were frosh.

St. Joe's hires Taylor Wray (Duke '03) this year and goes from 0-12 last year to 5-9 this year with win over Marist Tuesday night.  Hmm...
[Edit 4/28] And a win over Towson 6-3 to end the season.

Wray also was an assistant at Lehigh before he went to St. Joe's.  With our luck, we'll end up with Pat Cullinan (whom Wray replaced).

This is assuming Mangan resigns, of course.  His Twitter page on GoLeopards.com still is locked.  Compare it to Dianne Nolan's page, which is full of activity.

Incidentally, for those who haven't seen it yet, there's a good article on the Patriot League on the Inside Lacrosse website:

Makes me wish we were a part of it.

“I've seen them from the outside looking in,” Sowell said. “I've seen them getting better each year. Did I think (the Patriot League teams) were going to be quite as good as they've been? No. The league's better than what I anticipated. It's that much better than I thought.”

"I was just incredibly humbled in my first couple of years,” Cassese said, pointing out that the coaches elevated talent in the league. “I was was seeing all these different schemes. I was like 'holy cow.' I didn't see it in the ACC. The ACC has unbelievable coaches. But the end of the day the talent and the athleticism makes it what it is. Our schemes are much more important.”

Very good, very complimentary article.  And accurate.  And yes, it's all about the scheme in the PL.  Smart coaches + smart kids = good schemes.
