Leopards Prey on Bison, 16-15

4:00 PM faceoff in Lewisburg.  Toughest test of the season to date.  Question as to whether the Bison will have top scorer Tim Brandau back from injury.

Lafayette is promoting this game as being available on "All-Access" but it does not come up either from the link or in a search of Lafayette games.  Bucknell's site has it posted and linked properly here for those of you who would like to watch.

It's too bad our folks couldn't get this posted and linked properly.  I'll bet there are quite a few Lafayette fans who are curious to see what a really good Lafayette lacrosse teams looks like.  Hopefully some will go over to the Bucknell site and watch it from there.

EDIT: It appears as if LSN has addressed the problem and the correct All-Access link is now up for lax @ Bucknell.

Amazing game so far. 5-5 first period.

9-9 at the half....we have to do a better job on defense.  We are great on face offs though we have had 7 turnovers.  I think we have 5 or 6 different players scoring.

Huge win...if we win the league will it be at Fisher???

Rah Leopards!

Craziest DI game I've ever seen.

Couple of thoughts:

- Pard offense if prolific.  Bison were marking Perini all day, but Sterling and Bauer stepped up big.  This is not a one trick pony.

- Bucknell is a very good team, forcing turnovers and taking Lafayette out of its game.

- Pards are susceptible to double teams and to hard rides from the defensive zone.  In fact, they could not even maintain possession with 22 seconds left in the game and turned it over with 8 left.  Another 10 seconds and this one could have gone to overtime.

- Pards man down D might as well not have existed today.  They could just have well conceded the goal and moved on.

- Pards are at their best when the show patience and don't lose their cool.  They are blazingly quick and can score from anywhere.

- FO man Munoz is a beast.  He needs better support.

- Don't attempt the full field clear when you don't have to.

- This game might have been a preview of the PL final which will be nationally televised on CBS College Sports.  It would be a crying shame not to have it played at Fisher.

I assume there is a 4 team PL tourney for Lax?

That is correct FT.  From the Patriot League website:

"The 2010 Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Championship will be held at the school with the highest seed as determined by regular-season standings, with the top four teams qualifying for the tournament. Two semifinal games will take place on Friday, April 30. The championship game will be played on Sunday, May 2. The winner earns the Patriot League's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament."

As someone who played for Bill Lawson back in the mid- to late- 90's, let me just say that I've never been prouder to be affiliated with this program than I am today.  Congratulations to Coach Mangan, his staff and the entire team!  Way to go boys!!

Just for fun, today's mid-season Power Ratings in NCAA Division I Men's lacrosse:

1.  Virginia
2.  Lafayette
3.  North Carolina
4.  Syracuse
5.  Maryland

All in one breath, now, kids . . .

I know the Power Ratings are just computer-generated gibberish (as in any other sport), but isn't this cool?
