Refs would not let Pitt lose.  37-15 foul shot differential is ridiculous.

We did have the last possession in regulation with a chance to win.

Hope to watch this team on Wed.  Double header!

I love this team!!!  Even with the refs against them they never gave up and played to the last buzzer.  They deserved better today but its a long season.
I don't want to jinx it but I am thinking this team could challenge in the PL.

Definitely time to jump on this bandwagon. Ill be there schedule permitting.  They seem to be finding their groove on offense.  Future is bright as hell

Really tough loss.  the girls deserved a better fate.  One of the problems with basketball is officiating.  When there is such a disparity of foul shots, especially given that Lafayette had the lead most of the second half, it is hard not to think the refs are trying to influence the outcome.

It looks like teams are playing Fiacco really tough judging by her lack of scoring recently.  Not a criticism (she's a great girl) but she will learn to deal with it - maybe work on her outside shot.  Homan seems to be scoring more - she looks like the real deal and is a freshman.  Good recruiting Diane.

Nice game girls.

Looking at the box score, we has 28 turnovers which resulted in 27 Pitt points. We need to take better care of the ball. I don't see the advantage of moving a 6'7" player away from the basket, unless we are going to run a Princeton offense as we did during the Smith years. Danielle needs to improve her foot speed and foot work.

I think you're likely at least a year away from being a contender.    Playing Pitt tough is a good accomplishment - but according to Sagarin Pitt would be underdogs to three PL teams right now.    Finishing in the top four would be a great accomplishment for LC right now - but not an easy one.

If nothing else, be grateful you don't have a coach like Kathy Fedorjaka.

I think the point is that the frosh appear to be for real and they are finding their rhythm which means we may improve more than most teams over the course of the season.

You are a true PL hoops expert and your rationale is sound - but we have so little in Easton. We tend to cling to anything that offers hope - which this team is doing!

Is the two year rule in effect for both men's and women's basketball, or can we start recruiting Zehner immediately?

1.   The two-year transfer rule hasn't changed.

2.  Do you know something we don't know about Zehner?    At present she is still listed on Bucknell roster and Game Notes say she has taken a leave of absence for personal reasons.

If Danielle had better footspeed and footwork she'd be playing about 200 miles east for a paisan. I was pretty happy with how she runs the floor when I saw her.

With all due respect to Xbor, I am no basketball expert but simply made a comment about Fiacco's lack of scoring in recent games.  I take you porint about foot speed and foot work - I'm sure you are right.  She is an exceptional player who Lafayette was really lucky to recruit.  Her improvement and continued improvement from Homan and the guards will make the Leopards a strong team - one able to beat the Pitts of the world on occasion.

Count me as a Fiacco fan.  Coach Nolan uses her defensively as much as anything.  Whether she ultimately takes the shot or not she is integral in just about every play.  Fiacco is a huge part of what makes this team fun and exciting to watch.  If they rely on sharpshooting guards to score the points all season, so be it.

Women vs. Columbia followed by Men vs. Penn on 01/04 will be an excellent double-header.  I'm going up to KSC to catch both, if I can arrange to knock off a little early Wednesday afternoon.

It's also Dollar Dog Night, which is nice.

C'mon guys, Danielle Fiacco is a work in progress.  She was better than expected the day she set foot on campus, but everyone recognized that she needed work on the offensive end.  By March of 2014 she will be one of our all time greats.  Sit back and enjoy the ride.

She may be the best thing to happen to either basketball team for a long time.
