We know that Frank likes the speed, Rudolph has put on "15 pounds of muscle," Quilling has apparently fallen to number 3 on the depth chart, and Paul Reinhard has given us his two cents. Was anyone there? Any first hand accounts? Anything that should be added to the mass consumption pieces?

It was replayed on RCN on Sun, which I recored, but, didn't have a chance to watch yet.

Carney I'm gonna play your role for a second!
I don't think there's a more overblown event in sports than a football spring game. Have we ever really learned anything from any of them? Check the press releases from the last few games..>You'll see a whose who of people you never heard from again. (That goes for the big-time schools as well). Kids are studying abroad, kids are held out for grades, you can't hit the QB, the plays are spread out so nobody gets in any meaningful rhythm...
Considering Tavani basically gives the same quotes every year and sums it up with "nobody got hurt and now we can go to the Bar-B-Q...."
So no...nothing to add---because there's nothing to see.

OK...maybe you guys aren't following along...this is a "provocative" post where I am telling you the Spring game is a colossal waste of time from a fans perspective and you guys are supposed to put me in my place and tell me all the amazing things we've been able to ascertain from spring games in the past.
Like in 2003...."All-Patriot League quarterback Marko Glavic led the Maroon squad to a touchdown on the first series of the game, completing three of four passes for 26 yards, and did not play the rest of the contest. That allowed reserves Michael O'Connor, Cole Sampson, Pat Davis and Brandon Hall an opportunity to showcase their skills."
God we saw a lot of those guys--although both had great moements in upcoming Lehigh games.
Also in 2003: "Thomas Hall led the receiving corps with three catches for 44 yards." Phil Ng, Phil Yarberough, Shaun Adair, THomas Hall...The Mount Rushmore of Lafayette receiving.
Last years game....Mo White did not play (OK, that was an omen), sophomore Nathan Padia "made his case for more playing time" and damn if it didn't hanppen...TWO RECEPTIONS FOR 12 yards last season!!! And promising freshman Leroy Butler "stood out among younger players and that propelled him to being the 12th leading tackler on the defense!
Spring games are a workout, a practice, that's it.

Well here's an idea...we could not draw any conclusions about kids not playing in the Spring game (i.e so and so must be in the dog house, leading some sort of intersquad revolution, stricken with bubonic plague) while suimultaneously make some observations about players who are (i.e Rudolph put on 15 lbs. of muscle and it looks like Curley is back in the drivers seat for now).
By the way...I believe it was yours truely who said Rudolph is going to be a beast if they lock him in the weight room during the offseason. Really excited to hear he is on the way. I think he could hold another 10-15 lbs personally.

Second only to signing day at FCS schools which fans will claim to show us who will lead them to the promised land!! It is composed of lists of guys who were recruited by Florida State but went to Oshkosh U because they liked the atmosphere.

Don't tell Weis and the BOT. They'll put it on the chopping block. I hope the RCN/LSN sponsors don't find out either!
