Metro College

Ice in the LV, snow storm from here to Boston. If the game goes off tonight, attendance will be light.

Keep it up guys, every game is almost a must win the way the league is going right now.
leopard88

I have the beer and snacks ready for the rare game those of in the Baltimore area can watch (absent live streaming).

Added bonus -- Lafayette-Loyola on MASN Wednesday night.
pards123

Thanks for the heads up re: MASN. Saturday's game against American will be on Comcast SportsNet DC as well. I will likely be heading to Bender for that one, though.

Go Pards, let's complete the sweep of MC tonight!
leopard88

Thanks for the heads up re: CSN.  I can watch that game at home too . . . sans computer.
Lafalum

Lindner sick !!! Not starting
carney2

Standing around on offense in the early going.
bethlehempard

A win tonight or in any of the next five guarantees a winning regular season. BU is out-shooting us by a ton tonight but we are in it.
***I guess we weren't in it. BU lost most or all of their starters and just thrashed the Pards at home.

Their soph transfer from SMU ( and the Peddie School) looked outstanding as did the whole team which had no seniors.

What's a "transfer" again, I forget?    Anyway, lose your point guard 2 mins before tip, discouraging.
Pard4Life

Didn't watch but it just seems to prove we are a "system" team... you don't have the talent or if one guy is missing, you crash.

Lindner left the court just as the players were being announced. He spent the entire first half and most of the second half in the men's room throwing up. This caused the coaching staff to reconfigure the game plan on the go. I thought Scott did a nice job, playing 30 minutes with only one TO. Ptasinski and Boykins a combined 3-19. We did a much better job defensively in the second half, holding them to 24% from the floor. Lets hope we are healthy by Wednesday.

Met College All Star Transfers throttled  the Leopards tonite in Easton.  The Met Locker Room was particularly animated after the game and was heard to be yelling: "We doesn't b'long in the PL!"  I agree.
pardfan

Trying to win in Patriot League men's basketball MIGHT be possible without AA's but, Fran, you're not the coach to do it.  We need to recruit our rear-ends off (starting now) and, after this many years, I don't see the mojo.
Kentucky v. Texas Western every night.
Can't say it's so hard.  Tavani gets AA's.  Lehigh BB gets AA's.  Just got to work a little harder than you're used to.
We may regret letting BU into this league.  If they get back into football, we (all schools) are toast.  Georgetown on steroids from day one.
seenalot

Lets start by recruiting a back up point guard - as there isn't one in next years class.

An excellent point. Why is there no waiting in the wings, leaning the system, backup who can handle the ball?

FOH quote from today's paper:
"Any team that loses one of their best players isn't going to be as good without him," Lafayette coach Fran O'Hanlon said. "Bryce is a great secondary ball-handler but point guard isn't his position."

So...........

We have a PG backup, he played last night and did an excellent job considering the circumstances. BTW its the same PG backup for Tony Johnson's senior season. He's a junior so he will be back next year.

I believe you read that wrong. According to the box score, we shot 24% from the field in the second half.

To all those who criticize me over Met College.  Bison said it well: Met College's size gives them a distinct advantage in the PL.  I have no qualms whatever with the academic reputation of the school and would not argue with anyone about that.  However, Last year's men's Bball team had a bunch of Met College types which completely calls into question why they were allowed in the League without waiting a year.

Maybe Bison can do some research into how many Met College types are on their other varsity sports teams.

To put it very succinctly, BU absolutely does not belong in the PL.

toucansambb:
You do seem to have a big problem with us BU folks.  Your problem seems to stem much farther than just the massive size of our school.  Your comment that you heard our players yelling from the locker room that "we's don't b'long in the PL" was extremely racist.  With our team being far away from any crowd in your upstairs facility, I can't imagine any common fan would've heard what went on in our locker room.  In addition, I was there and you aught to be ashamed of yourself.  That didn't happen.

Secondly, questioning our team's AI was just overboard.  In one post you say you'd like to know the AI requirements and in a subsequent post you say you don't question the academics of our school.  So if I think I hear what you're saying - you doubt whether our players are as smart as our school.   Totally wrong!  Our AI is just fine.

One things for sure, our team is diverse.  Diversity brings a lot of success not just in cultural understanding but also in personal growth.  Your team has one player of color and if I remember last year and the year before there was also only one.

Maybe you don't think we belong in the league because we are the big city type folk.  Whatever the case, I'll take the position of; we are more evenly match with you - than you with American or Colgate.  We bring the message that yes we are athletic, fast and diverse and if you'd like to compete better with us or anyone else in the PL, your coach may want to be very honest with himself and ask "why do we (Lafayette) look different than any other school in the league".

Instead of us (BU) being the odd man out with our size, maybe you are the odd ones out with your lack of diversity!

Now play some "D"!

I don't intend to get into a scrum with an idiot like this guy from BU.

To raise questions about diversity at LC and to accuse me of being racist could not be more inaccurate.  I never made the comment about BU doesn't belong in the PL.  I couldn't have bec I was not at the game.

My last comment.

Bring back football, or we will continue to call you Met College and assume all of your players are taking night school criminal justice classes!

Better bring you're security detail tonight Ed, sounds like they are looking for you and basketball security is a bunch of old guys. The guy with the gun is Barney Fief's brother and isn't allowed to carry bullets.

I really don't know what all the hub bub is? At 33,000 total undergrad and grad student Boston U has as much enrollment as every other school in the patriot league combined. A perfect fit!

I really wanted to stay away from this, but, being lectured to on our board just bothered me. Especially about this topic and especially from a school with a hockey program. If you want to see lack of diversity just look at MetCos hockey team photo.
Bogus Megapardus

Just to repeat - I can't stand Metropolitan College.  They have no place in the Patriot League.  Now would be a very good time for them to find a more appropriate place to park their non-hockey sports.  The sooner the better.

Be gone with you, Metro C.
