Moorhead leaving Fordham? Is it a possibility?

I'm sure you've seen the press, but Joe has been mentioned a few times lately for the HC jobs at Rutgers and Syracuse and the OC job at PSU. I know his contract runs through 2019 and this could just mean an early contract renewal, but wouldn't you love to see him leave Fordham? I would!!

2021 but he could still leave for millions...

Yes.  Not sure when or where, but I think he will leave eventually.  As much as he appears to love Fordham he will get an offer he cant refuse at some point.

He will have some opportunities, if not now in the next couple of years. Lots of coaching jobs coming open this year. It trickles down.

I can't see him going to a school as big as Syracuse or Rutgers. I could see him getting. CAA offer or MAC.  Just my Opinion.

Agree.  He would probably have at outside shot at a P5 program, but it is pretty rare for a coach to jump right from FCS to P5.  He does have OC experience at UCONN already however, so that is a big plus for him.  Not sure he has to go to the CAA 1st however.  Guys like Clawson and Lembo went to the CAA, but now that the PL is also a scholarship conference, PL coaches wont have that "they didn't lead a scholly program stigma" to overcome.

Moorhead will probably go to a lower level FBS school as HC, or a big time program as OC as his next move.

Dino Babers seems to be the leader for the Syracuse job according to some reports.  Babers was at East Illinois for 2 years, and Bowling Green for 2.  Moorhead could follow a similar path.

I know Joe loves Fordham.  I am friends with a guy who played with Joe at Fordham, and he reports this, and gets the sense that Joe isn't going to jump at the 1st opportunity. However, I think the guy is too good of a coach to never try for the 'big' job.

I guess I can now say I was correct with the this thread. The good news is it will throw some disruption and uncertainty into the Fordham program. I don't believe they have anyone on staff to be promoted, so now the search is on.

If I could only predict what will happen with the Pards staff.

Fordham promotes Breiner to HC. I was wrong as I didn't think they would hire from the inside. The youth movement is on...Briener is only 31 and Maine hired a 29 year old HC. Right place at the right time for sure...

Interesting.  If you're good, you're good, but these guys really lack experience.

Cornell hired David Archer a few years back when he was just barely 30.  I haven't watched Cornell play in ages, but the Cornell faithful believe he is in over his head.
