More confusion

Wednesday's game with Holy Cross, originally a 7:00pm game was moved to a day game to accommodate "Education Day". (Education Day is when the local schools bring the middle school students to a basketball game so they can learn how much change they get when they buy one of the $3.00 hot dogs sold at the refreshment stand.) Last week an email from the ticket office advised the game would start at 11:15. Today, Sports Information advises its a 11:00 start.

They finally started at 11:15.

NO CROWD - The anticipated 2,000 or so elementary school kids did not show up as the schools dismissed early in anticipation of a snow event (can't call an anticipated "coating to an inch" a storm).

NO GAME as the Pards got blown out by a bad Holy Cross team.

Lost by 18 at home to a team with an identical PL record 3-4.  Plenty of room on the "bandwagon."

Outplayed and outcoached. The whole day was a fiasco, its now 3:30 and we haven't had a single flake.

Teams should be hitting their stride right now, but, our Women and Men seem to be struggling.

Struggling???  How about no good at this point in the season.

Admissions guy Greg Macdonald said, when interviewed at halftime of a men's game recently, that WBB has signed a 6-5 woman from Canada.  (Greg is from Canada.)  Anyone know more?

Well I was told she was 6'6" but 6'5" will do.

Geezus - while I know nothing about this young woman I think it's safe to say if she were a complete package she'd be talking to Geno in Storrs.

I really thought we were going to have a really nice team this year - certainly an upper-echelon league team. Next year is almost certainly a rebuilding year.

Fiacco left College Hill with a statline to dream of but we never figured out how to best use her.

What I'm saying is I don't see a system in Nolan's recruiting - I see a hodgepodge of solid talent that isn't well suited to play together.

Hats off to O'Hare whose made a gargantuan leap in virtually everything since last season.

I realize Patriot League women's basketball isn't a joke -but I can't figure out why we seem to disintegrate every year once league play starts.
