Mt. Rushmore of Lafayette DL

Our old friend, 94, seems to have run out of gas, so here's an attempt to get this back on track.

I don't have a lot of input here, but I do know that we start with Tony Green, Class of 1983, and fill in around him.

Are we talking about Units or individuals?

From the recent years...

The Liseno, Bloom, Snipes, and Sprenkle unit played well together.

Did we have some guys who teams were like "We don't want to run towards that guy"?

Where ya been?!  This is an ongoing theme.  We've been at it for weeks.  We only have a few positions left.  There are "rules."

It's "Mt. Rushmore," fer gawdsake.  4 INDIVIDUALS.  No more.  No less.  No units.

It's "Mt. Rushmore," fer gawdsake.  It's for the ages.  "Recent years" doesn't hack it.  There has been an ongong debate about whether to restrict it  to the "modern era," whatever that might mean, but it sure goes way back beyond the Tavani era no matter what.  Lafayette has a long and storied football history, and all of it needs to be considered.  Up until WWII - a time that not even I was witness to - the Pards ran with the big dogs.  In other words, this is no place for children, whose frame of reference, or even historical context, barely gets out of this century.

Are you running for office or answering my question.  A simple yes or no would have sufficed.

Seems like someone has a thorn in his butt.

thats his job....it keeps the rest of us honest, and for the most part smiling.

I guess I did run out of gas there. Thanks for picking up the ball and running with it. I would throw the names Ohnegian and Hansen out there for your consideration. Were you all aware that Pete O. had a fairly sizeable (no pun intneded) role as the Center for the Sharks in the movie Any Given Saturday? He actually had a couple of lines and somewhat of a nude scene (locker room).  he was also in the Replacements and at least one Right Guard commercial with Brian Urlacher.

I played against Pete in practice. Best D-lineman I ever played against. His bench press was in excess of 400lbs, he squated 600 lbs and he ran a forty in the neighborhood 5.00 flat. He weighed over 300lbs but I think his body fat was around 19%. Just a freak. I'm convinced that had he not suffered a severe high ankle sprain his senior year he would have played in the NFL for years. As it was he had a pretty successful Arena Ball career. i think he currently owns a very successful gym in North Jersey.

Hansen was a Freshman when I was a Sr. Even as an undersized Freshman you could tell he had talent. Very successful career at Lafayette.
