New coach at Bergen Catholic

Holy cow, wrapped up in signing day, I missed this.

Stengel out, Nunzio Campanile from Bosco is the frontrunner.

This has possibilities.

Go Pards!

Not as plugged in to that aspect as you - why does this offer possiblity?

BC one of the top programs in the state.  LC is a very desirable place to play thanks to FT, Bourger et al., Bergen County area is prime recruiting grounds for us (Costanzo, Bono, many more) and yet we never get a kid from Bergen.  See them at HC of course with McGovern ties (one of McGovern bros is AD at Bergen) and at lehigh all the time.   We've had Bosco kids (Mills) never Bergen.  Hey, I'm on the outside with you, seen, but I'm hoping this change opens up what should be prime recruiting school for LC.

ah - Thanks.

Would seem a coaching change cant hurt - would indeed be nice to tap into some of the Bergan County crew and do a better job with Hudson County kids too.

Still, pretty happy with this class - especially w/ the transfers.  Would be nice to pick up 1-2 late signers as we have done in the past.

For a former Jersey guy like myself, besides the recruiting implications for LC, this coaching scenario is a very big deal.  BC-Bosco is like Laf-LU.  Campanile going from DBP to Bc would be like Coach Heff having succeeded Lembo.  DBP has beaten BC 14 of the last 15, I believe, (over 10 years) hence the change.  These schools attract (if not outright recruit) kids from all over the area which is one of the top producers of talent in the country.  Past few years, 2 kids from my area have chosen to drive an hour to play at Bosco. One now kicks for Villanova, the other just signed with Pitt.  DBP is mythical #1 team in the country '09. 10 players signed Div 1. Have a game scheduled with Miramar HS, FL next season (8 div 1 signees, I believe).  BC has fallen a notch below, lost by 8 pts to DBP this season, but to get back in there for players would be huge, IMO.

Our class? Come on, even the most cautious among us has to be thrilled. (I know, on paper, on paper). From seventeen last year, to expecting 25, to getting 35 is fantastic.  Started out good with the transfers and kept building.

I dont know if they'll sign any more but one scenario to follow involves the FL QB Rothman whose offer was pulled by Cornell.   Could end up, if not with LC, with a team we play.
