Not a ton to complain about

Pretty efficient all around game.

ok - I spoke too soon...that last series was not helpful and two FG misses not a positive

look again

Make that 3 missed FGs, as in 0-3. Put that together with a 34.8 y punting average and I'd say special teams were the only glaring weakness tonight. Both lines looked good, O produced more than I'd predicted, right from the first carry. Solid individual and team performances. Liberty will be a real test, but you can only beat the team you play, and tonight we did that in impressive fashion. Nice job, Leopards! And thanks for the tip on All-Access; it worked great. But if I hear the announcer say "Leopards feed at night" one more time, I'll cancel my subscription.

I assume you're talking about Ethan Swerdlow, the freshman from La Jolla (not San Diego), CA.  I had the same question after watching the same old Tom Kondash rely on wind and/or roll to get anything beyond 35 yards.

Speaking of "why didn't we see...?", why didn't we see some other QBs get some playing time?  The game was over at halftime and, given the killer schedule, this might be one of the very few times that some of these kids could get some real (non-take a knee) reps.  Is Frank determined to take us into 2010 in the same way that he threw Mike DiPaola out there a few years ago with no meaningful experience?  What's the Einstein quote about doing the same thing over again and expecting different results?

We just finished game 1 of the 2009 season and you are worried about the starting QB for 2010?????

We are really digging deep to find something negative about this game.  considering this was game 2 for Georgetown and our team hadn't had a meaningful scrimmage in over two weeks, this is as close to a perfect game as you can get.

On to Liberty!

Carney, weren't you one that despised the QB controversey over the last two years. The starter needs to get reps right now. In week two timing is still very much an issue I am sure. I didn't get to watch the game but I am glad to hear that we had no competition going on at the QB spot.

Neither looking for nor thinking of a "quarterback controversy."  Just don't want to repeat the mistakes of the past.  Unfortunately, Frank is the kind of coach who doesn't really need to issue uniforms to backup QBs* - until he declares war on the starter.

*Lots of very successful coaches in this category including Joe Paterno.  I guess this gets filed under "What does carney know?!!"

Curley had a good game but not a great game. He made some good passes and some bad passes. Layton's TD could just as easily have been an INT. I think he needed the work, its going to be a big step up this week.

Also, we relied an awful lot on the big play last week. They are nice to get but we need to be able to put together the 6 minute, 14 play, 60 yard drive.

We'll get better.  I keep thinking back to some rather poor opening game  play against Marist and Sacred Heart (and even some struggles vs GT) and have to be pretty happy about Saturday.

The OL run blocking  was not real good, but should improve. Heck, we had Buff and Biell playing their first varsity downs. Moore was pulled after the first series or two, was limping around after the game.  Cumming would make a significant difference at FB, dont know what his story is.  Layton showed terrific soft hands, but our other wideout wants to catch the ball against his body. Curley threw that deep out pattern perfectly and a college receiver has to make that catch. The receiver DID show good ability to get open, lets hope he can start to make some hands catches.  The coaches have been talking about Phillips for a while now, nice to see such a strong effort finally from him, outstanding.  Gerowski as well. I guess Eric McG is injured?  Game is already archived on all-access. For  second week in a row Lehigh will be rebroadcast on FoxCSA for those of us who want to get a look.
